GDIT – Federal Civilian Division is looking for an Assistant Product Manager (Science) to join our team to support the United States Army Medical Material Development Activity (USAMMDA).

USAMMDA is the premier developer of world class military medical capabilities with a mission to develop and deliver quality medical capabilities to protect, treat, and sustain the health of Our Service Members.

This position is based in Ft. Detrick, Maryland.

The Assistant Product Manager will support the following tasks or the assigned product(s) in support of the Warfighter Protection and Acute Care (WPAC) Product Management Organization (PMO).

  • Provide project management support to the assigned Division/Product Management Office (PMO) and support the advanced development requirements for medical products
  • Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to include scheduling meetings and preparing agendas, related documentation, and minutes
  • Successfully communicate with personnel at various echelons through the use of effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Support numerous efforts and effectively prioritize and multi-task requirements that have a direct impact on the product portfolio
  • Support all major initiatives to advance product development and associated activities
  • Assist with programmatic and technical document review, market research, and vendor site visits/demonstrations
  • Assist in portfolio financial management by performing budget analysis and contract support in regards to deliverables and periods of performance
  • Participate in various meetings both internally and externally to the organization
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology and industry developments
  • Support the DoD Acquisition Lifecycle and document preparation
  • Participates in special projects as required


  • Bachelors’ Degree in a Scientific discipline
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Experience with MS Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Ability to obtain T1 (Public Trust)


  • Knowledge of the DoD Acquisition Lifecycle and FDA approval process, preferred
