This Systems Engineer Advisor position will require knowledge and experience of Geospatial services, data, Google Earth and other GEOINT related initiatives. Data storage, knowledge to include configuration, installation, web-based Visualization tool(s), and the ability in learning various data management software applications. If you are looking to get in on the ground floor to work with a small team of Engineers to design, manage, integrate and implement geospatial exploitation Products (GXP) data stores, libraries, and supporting dozens of internet-disconnected networks, this is the job for you. Leverage modern concepts, procedures, and software to accelerate the entire systems lifecycle and create secure, reliable solutions supporting intelligence capabilities for America and its coalition partner nations. You will also work with the iSpatial and GEEP/OpenGEE and other geospatial product owners and development teams, and act as the customer advocate on application requirements and design, with respect to integration and capability enhancements.
Provide functional and technical support to Enterprise geospatial development and integration initiatives.
Provide system maintenance tasks and operations support to Enterprise geospatial software applications like iSpatial and GXP Xplorer to include vendor collaboration, system configuration, testing, troubleshooting, data migration activities, demonstrations etc.
Support GXP Xplorer Enterprise Platform in system administration, application configuration, troubleshooting and training users.
Support the integration and installation of new application releases and ensure all security updates and fixes are implemented.
Support the customer in technical exchanges with user community in order to better integrate geospatial tools and applications
Work with the GDIT Team co-located at the US BICES-X CIL to integrate priority data interfaces and stores for iSpatial and other Enterprise Geospatial tools to include geospatial analysis layers and globe overlays.
Support Geospatial application demonstrations and field user requests for support and training.
Provide interface to the Google Earth Enterprise Platform product team and other vendors for any software related issues.
Install updated Google Earth globes on the BICES network as they are made available.
Drives scalability and operability of supported systems/infrastructure.
Creates and maintains detailed system documentation.
Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.
Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology, always on the lookout for new technologies, and works with management to evolve current processes.
Participates in special projects as assigned.
May be required to work evening, weekend, and holiday hours as required
8+ years of experience is required.
Must possess and maintain a secret clearance.
Development and integration experience with Geospatial data and software applications (i.e., GXP Xplorer, ESRI, Google Earth, etc.)
Familiarity with RESTful web services
BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience required.
Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
Experience in infrastructure design and operations including load balancing app/db clustering, firewall rules, fail over, monitoring, diagnostics, and performance tuning, etc.
Mastery of the PowerShell scripting language.
Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and Subversion
Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Must meet DoD 8570 requirements and be eligible for IAT level II access upon hire for positions with elevated privileges
ITIL V4 Foundation within six months of hire.
Depending on job assignment, additional specific certifications may be required.
Knowledge of/experience with GIS and Geovisualization software (e.g. Google Earth Enterprise and/or ESRI, GXP Explorer).
Experience working directly with customers and remote teammates via email, chat, and VOIP.
Knowledge of Web Service security standards and strategies Knowledge of NATO Standardization Agreement (STANAG), Intelligence Projects Integration Working Group (IPIWG) standards, Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) and others.
This position may be required to complete short-term deployments to austere locations worldwide
The work is typically performed in an office environment, which requires normal safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment
