Our work depends on a Senior System Administrator – Active Directory joining our team to support FBI activities at Quantico, VA.

As a Senior System Administrator – Active Directory supporting the Operational Technology Division, you will be trusted to work on Microsoft Active Directory components within IT systems in both production and development environments and manage and maintain the Active Directory environment to support the needs of the domain.  In this role, a typical day will include:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Collaborating with the Operational Technology Division to make group policy modifications to support the domain, review current Active Directory technologies, and make recommendations for those that will enhance the mission.
  • Author PowerShell scripts to automate deployment tasks
  • Configure and troubleshoot name resolution in an Active Directory-integrated split-brain DNS environment
  • Perform daily health checks of the enterprise, and up-channel findings with suggested remedies for implementation
  • Manage the Active Directory-based activation of Windows platforms
  • Implements security enhancements to the environment as directed by the CSO
  • Support the unit with other duties as assigned
  •  Review existing configurations of the replication topology for inconsistencies and deploys new configurations during site building
  • Supporting the umbrella of Active Directory (AD) technologies
  • Optimizing enterprise-level Directory Services infrastructure
  • Monitoring and maintaining existing Directory Services environments in multiple enclaves
  • Utilizing Group Policy to harden resources within the environment
  • Working knowledge of DISA STIGs and their implementation
  • Evaluating the relationship between existing policies and plans to those for the future
  • Troubleshooting Group Policy processing issues on systems within the environment
  • Maintaining DNS at the service level, verifying functionality and troubleshooting issues
  • Utilizing split-brain DNS for multi-homed enterprise resources
  • Maintaining the health of existing AD Federated Services technologies
  • Working knowledge of creating/maintaining federation trusts
  • Maintaining the health of existing AD Certificate Services technologies
  • Install and manage systems via hypervisors and virtualization sub-systems
  • Support a variety of networking, storage, virtualization, and other components that may span across multi-generational deployments
  • Evaluate effectiveness of existing technologies on site, considering emerging technologies
  • Maintain cloud (examples: Azure, AWS) infrastructure systems
  • Maintain on premise cloud (examples: Azure, AWS, OpenStack) infrastructure systems
  • Your success will be measured through the consistent maintenance and secure availability of products and services, support equipment, computers, and electronic equipment installations required for the site to fully support mission operations.

EDUCATION:

  • Four (4) year college degree in Information Systems Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Five (5) years of experience designing, managing, administering, documenting, troubleshooting, and supporting Active Directory components within IT systems in both production and development environments or, in lieu of education, ten (10) years of experience

CLEARANCES:

  • Top Secret Clearance
  • Must be eligible for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Access

  • Active Directory 2016, 2019, 2022 and latest version
  • Group Policy

  • Active Directory Certificate Services/PKI
  • Author PowerShell scripts that will be used to standup and maintain AD Environment
