General Position Responsibilities:

• Ability to communicate with users, stakeholders, and team members regardless of technical expertise
• Ability to assist in creation of network architecture scope, definition, gaps, construction, and execution
• Ability to assist in evaluating, analyzing, and designing networks
• Detail oriented; able to document and follow detailed instructions within test scripts as well as defects tracking documents (i.e., steps to recreate the problem)
• Understanding of testing concepts and how testing fits in with the overall project life cycle
• Detailed understanding of configuration of required network component or service technology
• Ability to create technical documentation for network design, build, and transition
• Familiarity with at least some of the following tools: SolarWinds, ServiceNow ITSM, Cisco SmartNet, Cisco ISE, and Wireshark

• Monitor the ticket queue for new requests
• Capture new requests as tickets, and document progress towards fulfillment in the ticket
• Work with requestors to capture and document explicit business, functional, and technical requirements
• Document, update, and maintain accurate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Draft change control documentation and employ DOE approved change management practices to authorize work activities
• Draft, update, and maintain system documentation

Network Management; Qualifications:
Education:
• Higher Level Qualification (e.g. degree) in a technical subject is desirable
• Vendor certifications are desirable but not essential
Work Experience:
• 8-10 years or more experience in network management work and technologies
• Experience cloud-based network architectures and management
• Experience using PCB layout tools (Cadence OrCAD and Allegro preferred)
Work Requirements:
• Work out of hours evenings, nights, weekends, bank holidays at reasonable request to perform production changes

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Essential Knowledge and Skills
• 10+ years' hardware development experience in a communications-related product design
• Experience in 1G/10G/25G/100G Ethernet or other high-speed digital designs
• Validation of design via physical measurements and functional test
