The Records Management Specialist supports the implementation of a records management program for a government agency to ensure that adequate and proper documentation is maintained throughout the record life-cycle. This role is located in Washington DC.
Track records and information assets throughout the records' lifecycle (from receipt to disposition)
Provide records and information management support as directed to support client agency requirements
Focus on large scale records collections scanning and data entry
Capture paper records by scanning to digital form
Provide weekly/monthly reports on activities
Conduct quality control of document image results
Ensure that all work adheres to agency/department standards for correctness and quality
Catalog records data into a content management system (ACF Records Management System)
HS/GED. Bachelor's degree preferred.
2+ years of experience in a similar role with a Bachelor's degree. 6 years with HS/GED.
Experience engaging with records custodians to identify records, capture functions and business process information
Ability to apply proper retention to records in paper and electronic format
Experience with Electronic Content Management Systems and/or Recordkeeping Systems
Working knowledge of NARA requirements
Attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
