Job Description

The DevOps Engineer will support the operations of a non-internet accessible cloud/on-prem hybrid environment relying on a large and rapidly growing Oracle database.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-10+ years of related DevOps, software development, and/or IT experience.
  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent work technical discipline.
  • TS/SCI with polygraph

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

  • AWS administration experience
  • Scripting experience (Powershell, GIT, Bash, etc)
  • Vsphere and VM knowledge/experience
  • Development skills (e.g., Java, C#, Python)
  • System engineering experience

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

  • Experience with Puppet, Ansible, and/or Jenkins
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing new environments within commercial cloud providers. Examples below use AWS terms but either AWS or Azure would be fine.
  • Administrative:
    • Organizational account structures
    • IAM policies and roles
  • Networking:
    • VPC design
    • Transit Gateway design
    • VGW/Customer Gateway configuration
  • Application:
    • Lift-and-shift of simple applications to cloud
    • Migration of data to and use of RDS and RDS replication services
    • Use of FSx for shared storage
  • Security:
    • Implementation of managed Active Directory services

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate will be expected to provide an array of skills within the DevOps discipline. The position will require engineering expertise within a multi-faceted team, where the individual is willing to provide a myriad of taskings to support the mission and be willing to learn new technology and methodologies as the program evolves.
