US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation System eXtended (US BICES-X) is a cutting edge program supporting DoD intelligence information sharing on current and emerging global threats to mission and coalition partners and emerging nations. With an internationally dispersed team supporting each combatant command, the US BICES-X team is in direct support of the war fighter and their missions. We are seeking a creative and driven professional with a passion for solving real world issues on a cross-functional, fast paced team.
The candidate will be joining a team of dedicated professionals committed to helping GDIT and the US BICES-X program succeed. The overall program includes a number of engineering and administration teams including Systems, Service Desk, Networks, IA, Knowledge Management, and Asset Management.
Responsible for the analysis, administration and support of voice, video, and/or data communications networks.
Maintains network security and ensures compliance with security policies and procedures.
Evaluates data traffic flows to identify efficiencies and remove bottlenecks.
Participates in the development and implementation of network-related procedures and standards.
Participates in and may lead aspects of major network installations and upgrades.
Interfaces with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during network outages or periods of reduced performance.
Develops and implements testing strategies and document results.
Provides advice and training to end-users.
Troubleshoots and resolves complex route/switch, VVoIP, IP encryptor, and cross domain problems.
May provide work leadership to less-experienced network personnel.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned.
Participates in special projects as required.
5+ years of experience required.
Must possess and maintain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance.
BA/BS degree - may substitute additional years of experien
Must possess a CCNA certification.
Must meet DoD 8570 requirements and be eligible for IAT level II (Security+CE or equivalent) access upon hire for positions with elevated privileges.
Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network administration and support.
Comprehensive knowledge of routers, switches, IP encryptors and related network hardware and software.
Comprehensive knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications.
May require additional professional certification in one or more specific technologies, depending on job assignment.
This position may be required to complete short-term deployments to austere locations worldwide.
Understanding of current Juniper JUNOS & Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, and NX-OS software and hardware features.
Understanding of WAN accelerators. (e.g. Riverbed)
Understanding of Virtualization technologies: VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft
Understanding of network virtualization.
Understanding of data center networking.
Understanding of firewalls and firewall rule sets.
Understanding of Cisco ISE.
This position is supporting a fluid military missions. You may be required to travel (temporarily or permanently) to different operating locations. Travel may be via commercial or military transport. Modes of transport include, but are not limited to; car, truck, armored vehicle, fixed and rotary wing aircraft.

The likely salary range for this position is $69,971 - $104,957. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
