At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a systems administrator supporting TSS Platforms, you will be trusted to administer Windows and Linux operating systems to include patching. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Follows defined standard operating procedures; assists with routine technical support in the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures.
  • With the guidance of management, helps troubleshoot system hardware and software issues.
  • Assist end users on the proper use of hardware and software with close oversight from management.
  • Under close supervision, performs basic software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
  • Under close supervision monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels.
  • Provides assistance with workstation/server data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutions.
  • Under the guidance of management, ensures data/media recoverability by following a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
  • With close supervision, conducts basic hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
  • Under the guidance of management, ensures that performance and security of computers meet the needs of network users.
  • Applies broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education.


  • 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Windows or Linux OS, Active directory, or BigFix experience
  • No security clearance required
  • Sec plus CE preferred
  • BA/BS highly preferred


  • Provide a highly technical self paced environment with opportunities for advancement through the administrator to the senior administrator tiers.
  • Provide training on multiple technology platforms including but not limited to Windows OS, LINUX/UNIX OS, patching solutions such as BigFix and SCCM, vulnerability remediation, and breakfix troubleshooting
  • Provide advanced training on area specific certifications and administration
