And our work depends on an Information Systems Senior Manager joining our team to support Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) for the United States Postal Service (USPS) activities located at the ITC in Bossier City, La.

GDIT is seeking a Wintel/Unix Senior Manager to direct the managers and their teams of Information Technology professionals who are responsible for all systems administration activities required to deploy, maintain, monitor, and support the Windows, and UNIX environments.  Manages the staff and activities of information systems solutions.  Responsible for the employment, training, motivation, and evaluation of assigned staff.  May lead planning and policy development issues.

  • Direct all aspects of programmatic support including day to day engineering, implementation, and operations

  • Work across the leadership team to develop and mentor teams of dedicated and leveraged architects, engineers, admins, and business operators

    • Assess talent and diagnoses gaps

    • Determines IT workforce planning needs

    • Identifies specifics workforce strategies for upskilling, cross-skilling, and succession planning

    • Implements IT workforce management for task and assignment management

    • Continuously Monitors KPIs and utilization for ensuring IT Service Management
       

  • Directs teams leading issue resolution support, including II and III level support for operations

  • Manage the IT Service Delivery team with a span of control extending to all contractual obligations for the program

Business Management:

  • Collaborates broadly to support internal and customer business development activities example being request for information (RFI), request for proposals (RFP), notional scheduling, and rough order of magnitude (ROM) estimates

  • Fosters strong customer relationships and gathers Voice of Customer feedback from stakeholders to continually optimize governance and decision-making processes

    • Manage allocated budget and create business cases to support investment prioritization and decision making

    • Develop operating-level agreements, service-level agreements, and service-level objectives

Technology Management:

  • Keeps abreast with evolving threats/risks, industry trends and works to implement best practices in the organization

  • Defines, tracks, and communicates specific KPIs to improve adoption and guide continuous improvement efforts

  • Implements industry standards service delivery and development methodologies, including ITIL v4 best practices within services to increase its responsiveness and growth

Business Transformation:

  • Recommends business process changes for better adoption of services

  • Identifies and evangelizes business and technology trends that can improve business outcomes

  • Directs Service Operations

  • Ensure a standardized service for all customers by ensuring standardized processes

  • Manages assigned staff which may include subordinate supervisors.

  • May manage the development of policies and procedures and ensures their conformance with the departments goals and company/customer objectives.

  • Manages the development and administration of schedule and performance requirements; may have budget responsibilities.

  • Manages and prioritizes information systems needs and analyzes project costs and feasibility.

  • Keeps well-informed of new technologies and industry best practices and trends and then plans and advises for implementation.

  • May oversee ordering process to effectively and economically meet objectives.

  • Manages vendor relationships and billing reconciliations.

  • Provides guidance and solutions to ensure the information systems needs align with the strategic departmental initiatives.

  • SCOPE: Manages or supervises large teams consisting of multiple disciplines.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS, or equivalent years of experience and 5+ years of experience, 10 years preferred

  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance

  • Over 5 years of experience in IT platforms, systems, and work IT service delivery management preferred

  • Extensive experience in IT service delivery via KPIs, strategic planning, budgeting, and allocation

  • Has participated in business development activities; responding to request for information/proposal (RFI/RFP) and authoring proposals to build GDIT business pipeline

  • Possess an aptitude for finance and budgeting activities that supports the business

  • Experience managing and overseeing staff minimum size 15+ preferred

  • An ability to motivate and manage a team of staff supporting the organization’s goals and an ability to lead the process of developing a platform vision for the future

  • An ability to cultivate and build collaborative working relationships with a broad range of enterprise and GDIT customer/program stakeholders

  • A well-developed understanding of and appreciation for business needs and a commitment to leading his/her team in delivering high-quality, prompt, and efficient service to the business

  • An understanding of and appreciation for Technology Shared Services organizational mission, values, and goals and consistent application of this knowledge

  • Strong decision-making capabilities, with a proven ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identify the most appropriate one

  • An ability to communicate complex and technical issues to diverse audiences, orally and in writing, in an easily understood, authoritative, and actionable manner

  • A working knowledge of the following areas of technical expertise: system design and architecture, ITIL and IT Service Management, organizational change management, and IT financial management

  • Solid knowledge of Cloud Computing (AWS, Azure, Google), Windows, Unix/Linux, & Storage

  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated experience delivering presentations to diverse audiences at various levels of an organization

  • Ability to directly manage clients for distributed service delivery, experience in customer management as well as vendor management, services review with customer

  • Ability to meet dynamic customer expectations by constantly innovating new ways of service delivery within the project constraints (budget/manpower) by enhancing productivity and implementing cost effective solutions

  • Experience in IT projects planning, execution, and control

  • Expertise in reviewing projects progress / performance, establishing milestones, and ensuring on time delivery.

  • Demonstrated experience in people management - resources management, quality review, workload analysis, future goal setting, performance review, setting growth paths, etc.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Cloud Computing, active cloud certification in AWS, Google or Azure (AWS Preferred)

  • Cloud migration experience

  • Advanced degree.
