Job Description

XVIII ABC Hub and Spoke MTCs provide individual and collective training on Army Mission Command Systems, using a variety of tools and Army fielded systems. These systems are used to support Small Unit Training: Squads through Company, Medium Unit Training: Battalion through Brigade, and Large Unit Training: Divisions and Corps in training environments ranging from Stability and Support Operations (SSO) through Unified Land Operations (ULO).

At GDIT, people are our differentiator.  As a Facility Specialist Security Manager, you will have a critical role in ensuring that our facility is complying with all government regulations and standards.  In turn, this will provide for an environment which is conducive to executing safe and secure exercises in support of our customer and their training objectives.

HOW the Facilities Specialist WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Directly responsible for all matters pertaining to the physical, personnel, information, and systems security of the MTC. Duties include:

  • Prepare, execute, and manage pre-exercise setup and post-exercise recovery and reset of all facilities; assist in the overall management of Soldier details (preparing for, supporting, and recovering during exercises).

  • Acts as the security POC for the contract and works in close coordination with Hub Security Officer to ensure full contractor compliance with all DoD and Industrial Security regulations.

  • Conducts security surveys, inspections, and risk analysis to determine the security posture of the facility.

  • Reports all security violations verbally, and in writing, to the MTC leadership, takes corrective actions as required, and provides recommendations to preclude a repeat of the violation.

  • Prepares security related reports and maintains an up-to-date security reference library.

  • Determines physical and systems security requirements during classified exercises or events and provides recommendations to the MTC Director on what government and/or contractor resources will be required to meet potential threats and vulnerabilities.

  • Provides supervision and oversight of government personnel providing physical security during classified events and provides security guidance and oversight of contractor personnel when conducting internal classified operations.

  • Monitors personnel security clearance status across the contract through DISS.

  • Writes the Security Annex to the MTC SOP and writes and insures full implementation of the MTC Physical Security SOP in accordance with AR 190-13, The Army Physical Security Program.

  • Acts as the MTC Classified Documents Custodian. Responsible for the proper storage and accountability of all classified documents used at the MTC.

  • Acts as the MTC Reproduction of Classified Documents Officer. Responsible for ensuring accountability of copies made of all classified documents stored or used at the BCTC.

  • Acts as the MTC Key and Lock Custodian. Responsible for the proper storage, issue, inventory and use of all locks and keys within the MTC.

  • Responds to any additional security requirements as required; advises on courses of action or additional resources needed to ensure adequate security measures are in-place and enforced.

  • Plans, directs, and reviews the day-to-day and tactical activities of individual contributors responsible for the development and delivery of area and site security programs. 

  • Builds and manages relationships with vendors providing area or site security services; makes recommendations for area or site contracts for service.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Requirements:

  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical or military discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work/military experience, and 2+ years’ experience supporting military operations.

  • Security Clearance: Current SECRET required.

  • Skills Requirement: Basic knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in the managing facility and security functions. Basic knowledge of relevant technology or subject matter. Demonstrated effective presentation and communication skills.

  • Location: Fort Stewart MTC. Normal work schedule is 0730-1600, may require om-call, night, or weekend work shifts depending on specific training event requirements.

  • Travel: May require occasional travel (less than 10%).
