General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is looking for an experienced Configuration Analyst to join our eMedNY Release Coordination team as we continue to partner with New York State Department of Health to provide comprehensive Medicaid Fiscal Agent services in the operations and enhancement of the statewide Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS).
In this role, you will be a change agent by utilizing account procedures in support of deployment activities and implementations. As a member of the four person eMedNY Release Coordination team, you will facilitate all aspects of all daily, weekly, bi-monthly and monthly Evolution Project, Fast Track and Defect releases, to meet the needs of the New York State Department of Health.
This position is based at GDIT’s office at Riverview Center in Menands, NY.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Review, approve and track (.xls & CRB .docs) all IBM Rational Team Concert (Mainframe COBOL) packages generated for all Evolution Projects, Fast Tracks and Defects, for all 14 multi-platform environments, including production. This includes verifying packages, to ensure the correct objects are accounted for, prior to being approved & promoted to each environment.
Maintain multiple eMedNY Release team spreadsheets, and use them in conjunction with Release Team MS Excel Calendars, as the foundations for coordination of Evolution Project, Fast Track and Defect promotes.
Create and maintain Control Review Board (CRB) documents that capture key information about each Evolution Project, Fast Track & Defect. When ready for production implementation, distribute said documents to all internal departments and then schedule, attend and chair CRB meetings, as needed.
Track (.xls) and send requests for all Database Change Requests (DCRs - tables, views & stored procedures), for all Evolution Projects, Fast Tracks and Defects, in all 14 environments, to the eMedNY Architecture team. This includes regular interaction with DBAs and the Database Engineer. Upon completion, perform validation & notify appropriate staff.
Review, approve and track (.xls & CRB .docs) all Dimensions CM (Open Distributed System) packages generated for all Evolution Projects, Fast Tracks and Defects, for all 14 multi-platform environments, including production. This entails the verification of the various types of baselines and configuration properties of the following components utilized in it, before they can be approved and promoted to each environment: Thin Client, ePaces, MEIPASS, PTAR, Spring Batch, DataStage, FPS, FTS, & WebService.
On an ongoing basis, work closely with the following teams to ensure all aspects of Evolution Project, Fast Track and Defect migration are handled at the proper time & sequence: PMO, Construction, Systems Integration Testing (SIT), Quality Assurance Review (QAR), Audit & Quality Control (A&QC), Program Architecture (Application/Data Architects & DBAs) & Configuration Management (CM).
Review, approve, track & promote eMedNY Data Element Change Requests (DECRs). Monitor & coordinate the following, as they migrate through all 14 eMedNY environments: SQL, Edit settings, System Parameter/XLAT/System Lists, Job Control Language (JCL), Procedures (PROCs), Control Cards, Zweasy data loads, Conversions, etc
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, or a related discipline
Five (5) years or more of IT experience
Experience on eMedNY program or Healthcare SDLC
Knowledge with Mainframe based applications and projects using COBOL, CICS, JCL, PROC, Control Library and Zweasy.
Experience in phases of the software development life cycle
Good analytical and problem solving skills
A strong background in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
A background in Release Management or eMedNY experience, including planning, scheduling and controlling a software build through different stages and environments
Experience in the use of Dimensions CM, dealing with all of the various types of baselines and configuration properties in the following Open Distributed System components utilized in it: Thin Client, ePaces, MEIPASS, PTAR, Spring Batch, DataStage, FPS, FTS, & WebService.
IBM Rational Team Concert (RTC) multi-branch mainframe experience. This includes experience with the RTC Workflow and the interpretation of RTC Promotion Build Reports.
Experience working with DB2 z/OS and LUW Database Change Requests and Data Element Change Requests.
