GDIT is seeking a Director, USSOCOM Business Development located in the Tampa area.  You will lead business development efforts within SOCOM, supporting efforts to secure new or re-compete contracts, or task order business within GDIT's ARMA Global Business Unit. You will support the team to develop capture strategies including business solution for pursuit of opportunities; identification of potential customers, competitive assessments, teaming suppliers, and prices-to-win, and participate in bid and proposal activities.

 

You will be responsible for leading business development efforts for SOCOM and will manage all aspects of account growth and strategy development, new business development, and customer relationship management across all levels within assigned accounts.  This position provides an outstanding opportunity to contribute to creating the Next GDIT and apply the breadth of resources available in our new organization to critical technology and mission challenges.  The breadth of our portfolio and the scale of our $10B company ensure that you can take on new challenges and new roles as our business and mission-impact expands.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and execute the SOCOM account growth strategy in coordination with Business Unit leadership
  • Lead the identification of new business opportunities that support the account plan, Business Area growth goals, and submit targets, throughout the opportunity life cycle
  • Develop, maintain, and update the pipeline of  new opportunities for the SOCOM Business Area
  • Maintain a pipeline of approximately? $10+B for the ARMA Global Team
  • Execute call plans to collect information about particular opportunities; in collaboration with technical staff, propose and test potential solutions; and qualify opportunities
  • Prepare for and presents opportunities for bid decisions and pipeline reviews
  • Lead the early development of win strategies during Identification phase, prior to assignment of a Capture Manager
  • Meet with customers to understand the customer territory—relative to portfolio of deals
  • Throughout opportunity life cycle, provides insight from the customer point of view.
  • Maintain on-going interaction with the Defense marketing team.
  • Develop broad customer and partner relationships through interaction and periodic travel to customer sites.

 

Required Qualifications:

·       Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, technology, or related discipline, PLUS 10+ yrs of business development or other relevant experience within the DoD and/or SOCOM

·       In lieu of Bachelor's degree, combination of work experience, education, or training is required

·       Able to obtain and maintain Secret clearance

·       Must be able to travel up to 20%-25% of the time

 

Desired Qualifications

·       Secret or Top Secret/SCI clearance preferred

·       Master's degree preferred
