The Navigation, Seamanship, and Ship-handling Trainer (NSST) program in Orlando, FL is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager with a background in complex systems environments to help lead personnel on-site at the Orlando facility.
The NSST product is a computerized bridge simulator that allows Sailors to practice ship handling, navigation, and visual information skills in a controlled environment. As the Systems Engineering Manager, you must have a background in complex systems environments to help lead personnel on-site.
You will interface with the Chief Engineer to coordinate and manage Systems Engineering resources and will:
- Have knowledge of simulation systems with general maritime knowledge and understanding of maritime systems.
- Provide verification and validation of system designs, schematics, drawings, etc.
- Have information and networked systems technology expertise with a strong windows background.
- Have the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot standard computational systems, I/O signals, video signals.
- Acts as advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems in-plant and on-site.
- Have experience managing people in a technical environment.
Basic Qualifications:
- BS degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- 5+ years of experience with systems engineering programs
- Experience managing people, schedules and deliverables in a technical environment
- DoD program experience a plus
- US citizenship; must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
