Job Description

Join General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) and be a part of the team of men and women that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges.

The Navigation, Seamanship, and Ship-handling Trainer (NSST) program in Orlando, FL is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager with a background in complex systems environments to help lead personnel on-site at the Orlando facility.

The NSST product is a computerized bridge simulator that allows Sailors to practice ship handling, navigation, and visual information skills in a controlled environment. As the Systems Engineering Manager, you must have a background in complex systems environments to help lead personnel on-site.

You will interface with the Chief Engineer to coordinate and manage Systems Engineering resources and will:

  • Have knowledge of simulation systems with general maritime knowledge and understanding of maritime systems.
  • Provide verification and validation of system designs, schematics, drawings, etc.
  • Have information and networked systems technology expertise with a strong windows background.
  • Have the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot standard computational systems,  I/O signals, video signals.
  • Acts as advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems in-plant and on-site.
  • Have experience managing people in a technical environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • 5+ years of experience with systems engineering programs
  • Experience managing people, schedules and deliverables in a technical environment
  • DoD program experience a plus
  • US citizenship; must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
