HOW AN ITSM SERVICE OPERATIONS MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT: 

  • Manages IT Hosting support for applications and manages operating systems for all hosted (virtual and physical) Linux and Windows servers
  • Implements ITIL-based IT service operations management in support of a large IT infrastructure and data center operations
  • Performs availability management services to ensure the capability of IT infrastructure and services are optimized to deliver a cost-effective and sustained level of service

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:  

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree

Required Technical Skills:

  • ITIL Foundations v3 or ITIL 4 Foundations certification

Required Experience:

  • 10 years in ITSM Operations with more than 5 years in IT management
  • 5 years in both moving applications through the system life cycle and overseeing end user support

Security Clearance Level:

  • Public Trust clearance (obtain & maintain)

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong working knowledge in application of ITIL service management processes
  • Strong demonstrated experience in the introduction of new changing services
  • Strong demonstrated experience in Linux and Windows Servers
  • Ability to monitor service usage statistics to identify any potential issues with network latency, storage throughput, or application-level code
  • Ability to perform proactive monitoring to prevent service disruptions by identifying anomalies in operations that may be leading indicators to service issues
  • Demonstrated experience identifying, developing, and maturing incident management workflow to deal with issues immediately, to restore services within the specified tolerances, and to eliminate impact to the mission
  • Ability to perform daily operations that focus on server operations, performance, and end user application support
  • Ability to oversee performance of testing Services to include application, configuration, patch release, performance/load, and regression tests
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing application support and end-user support.
  • Demonstrated experience providing change management, release and deployment management, testing services, daily operations, and full system lifecycle support for EPA infrastructure and platform components and services
  • Demonstrated experience managing Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for operating system and virtual appliances, database, virtualization, and application maintenance as well as IT Hosting infrastructure components
