GDIT is currently hiring for a Data Analyst and Administrative Associate. This position provides complex administrative, data management and scheduling support to the Scientific Resources Managers in support of the scientific peer review of grant applications submitted to federal and state funding agencies. This team manages a pool of part-time scientific review officers and editors, and is responsible for their recruiting, training, scheduling, support and evaluation.
This position supports the Scientific Resources Managers and their teams comprised of scientific review officers and editors. In this role, you will mainly provide data analysis support and some administrative support as needed. You will develop and maintain analysis and reporting tools to assist managers in tracking the progress and performance of employees across multiple programs, assist in resource scheduling, help with the development and collection of performance metrics, and implement appropriate processes to capture data from disparate systems. You will use Excel spreadsheets to do the majority of the work.
Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including using functions/formulas to manipulate data, such as V-lookup, pivot tables, error-checking, and macros, and developing properly formatted reports.
Strong analytical skills with ability to collect, synthesize, interpret data and work with large data sets.
Experience communicating effectively to various audiences, including senior managers, scientists, administrative and support staff in a professional environment
Experience organizing tasks across multiple concurrent activities.
Additional Desired Skills:
An Ideal candidate demonstrates experience working with analytical models, methods, or techniques and the ability to apply them
Demonstrated working knowledge of MS Access and MS Project highly desirable
Knowledge and experience with basic statistical measurements
Working knowledge of MS SharePoint collaborative tools
Experience using business intelligence or data visualization tools
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 2 years of professional experience
