GDIT’s Military Health IT Team is HIRING a Network Engineer to support GDIT’s Military Health Division across various locations.  As a Network Engineer at GDIT you will be responsible for the design and development of voice, video, radio frequency, and/or data communications networks to ensure success in meeting customer goals and objectives. You will be trusted to work with a variety of different technologies.


  • Designs, plans and builds communications networks.
  • Configures routers and switches, and firewalls for LAN and WAN systems and VPN concentrators with appropriate network engineering and communications protocols.
  • Coordinates LAN/WAN hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements.
  • Monitors the network utilizing industry leading technologies.
  • Provides innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process.
  • Plans implementation of enhancements.
  • Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
  • Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks.
  • Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability.
  • Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
  • Creates plans and configures systems for data communication networks.
  • Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
  • Designs and builds the hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks.


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Computer Science, or related field
  • 2+ years’ experience in network engineering
  • Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting software
  • Excellent verbal and communications skills
  • US Citizenship required
  • NACLC (T3) clearable


  • An intermediate or above level of proficiency with MS Office products (E.g., Word, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Applicable network certifications
  • Demonstrated experience regularly troubleshooting systems functionality
  • Demonstrated experience consulting with internal and external customers to understand business and technical needs, and make recommendations as needed

The likely salary range for this position is $57,069 - $95,305, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
