The primary focus for this position will be to conduct a wireless market survey to identify and recommend options for the next generation wireless network for our customer and then assist with the design and deployment of this next generation wireless network. The Sr. Network Engineer will provide high-level technical support for wireless and wired data network systems, create and maintain network documentation and work projects as needed in order to upgrade to new and/or improved communication equipment and procedures. This position requires excellent problem management and customer service skills. Position Responsibilities
Perform remote and on-site client consultation: plan, design, implement, and support the wireless infrastructure
Develop and implement the technical architecture and physical design of the network: analyze existing wireless, and data networks and recommend solutions
Troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade, and provide solutions to complex hardware/software problems
Directs the work of other technical team members and subcontractors
Work is performed with minimal supervision by senior management
Knowledge transfer and working well within a team are success essentials
Experience with Cisco wireless solutions including Cisco ISE
Minimum of five years related experience in Cisco wireless infrastructure environments,
Experience in network engineering (hardware and software), network security practices and designing, planning and implementing LANs and WANs including both Cisco and Juniper devices.
Expert knowledge of at least one vendor’s Wireless hardware - Access Points and Wireless Controllers.
Knowledge of other vendor wireless solutions such as Juniper a plus
Excellent knowledge of wireless networking technologies (.11 & RF)
In-depth knowledge of wireless security - .1x, RADIUS, WPA2, EAP-TLS, PSK, general PKI concepts
Understanding wired networking concepts (Routing and LAN switching)
Experience designing high-density AP and client deployments
Ability to effectively communicate with clients and end users
Must possess excellent client management/resolution, problem solving, debugging/troubleshooting skills, with sound presentation skills
Excellent English verbal communications and written documentation skills are required
