GDIT is seeking a Senior Capture Director for the Defense Division to join our outstanding Capture growth team!  This role is a leadership management position overseeing and managing a portfolio of pursuits and capture managers aligned to assigned Business Areas.

You will be responsible for leading, managing, and mentoring a group of capture managers to be assigned to approved pursuits, in alignment with the portfolio strategy.  You will be responsible for guiding the team to improve the quality of the overall captures within the portfolio, supporting the development and execution of win strategies from opportunity qualification through proposal submission.  You will also be an integral part of setting the growth strategy for the assigned business areas.

This position can be remote anywhere in the US with occasional travel to Falls Church, VA. 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Recruit, hire, retain, develop, and lead a team of capture managers to maximize win rates and a culture of capture excellence in all pursuits.

  • Work collaboratively with Business Area growth and operations leader counterparts to set growth strategy, define account plans, and then qualify, resource, and win targeted pursuits in alignment with that strategy and associated plans.

  • Assist BD leads and capture managers in developing and conducting capture strategy workshops, taking an active role in recommending appropriate win strategies for all pursuits in the portfolio. Help improve p(win) of all portfolio pursuits.

  • Actively and regularly mentor capture managers in successful execution of win strategies, growth processes/tools, activities, and reviews as defined in the enterprise business development (eBDP) process guidebook.

  • Provide direct capture support on smaller opportunities as captures resources become overextended

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree

  • Ten years Capture/Business Development experience successfully leading large, complex capture opportunities in the DoD market, including those in excess of $100M

  • Strong background in leading captures focused on target accounts and IT Services, Lifecycle SW development, Cloud and Cyber solutions, and defense mission focused program support offerings

  • History of success working in a matrixed leadership environment

  • Ability to think strategically, solve problems, and lead cross-functional teams collaboratively

  • US Citizenship and eligible for Top Secret Clearance
