GDIT has an opening for a UC Administrator position supporting the Army National Guard (ARNG) in Falls Church, VA. This is an IT Service Management contract in support of the operation, modernization, expansion, and further evolution of the ARNG’s global Information Technology (IT) services including networking, compute, storage, infrastructure, applications, hosting, and program management services. The GECOS program supports the ARNG enterprise IT infrastructure, its Wide Area Network (WAN), authentication and directory services, cybersecurity, application hosting, and associated services. GECOS uses ITIL best practices framework as the basis for IT Service Management (ITSM) model.
Responsible for the design and development of Unified Communications (UC) systems.
Provides expert level analysis of voice, video, and integration with data communications networks, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites.
Plans network layouts and configures systems for user environments.
Analyzes network topologies and traffic and capacity requirements.
Supports the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
May provide technical support and troubleshooting to users.
May perform network administration duties.
Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced network personnel and may have supervisory responsibilities.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
Participates in special projects as required.
Meet with various customers to determine strategic video and telephony needs.
Maintain proper documentation of systems configurations, to include drawings and standard operating procedures.
Review reports and logs for problems and identify appropriate solutions, to include developing workflow for lower tier support levels.
Provide primary and backup support in maintenance of Video and UC hardware and software.
Experience in Voice and Video Engineering, and Infrastructure including: Design, Maintenance, Support, Deployment, Implementation, and Systems Engineering.
Advanced knowledge in: Cisco Unified Communications Systems (UCS), Cisco Unified Communication Manager (CUCM) formerly Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Voice DR, VoIP, Voice Engineering, Video Conferencing and Collaborative Tools, integrating video into Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Prime Collaboration, Cisco Voice and Video Collaboration Systems, and Cisco Voice Cluster.
Experience with Cisco data networking, switching, and routing; but primary expertise is in Voice, VoIP, and DVTC.
Quality of Service (QoS).
Cisco Unity Connection.
Video Communication Server (VCS).
Tandberg and Cisco Video devices, including endpoints and Multipoint Control Units (MCU)s.
Cisco Certified Network Professional Voice (CCNP Voice)
Cisco Certified Voice Professional (CCVP)
Possess the appropriate baseline certifications to achieve DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II.
Possess an ITIL® v3 or ITIL® 4 Foundation or a higher certification in either category
