GDIT is seeking an Instructional Developer to work from either our Chantilly, VA or Durham, NC office and help support our milCloud 2.0 program.

milCloud® 2.0 Instructional Developer is responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating in-house product interactive training courseware for milCloud® 2.0 personnel and our Mission Partners. They will obtain information needed to prepare in-house interactive training courseware; prepare training materials; develop course content; determine methodology; and coordinate the development of training aids. The Instructional Developer will conduct training sessions and develop criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. They will also be responsible for continuously revising lesson plans to meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date.

As directed, the individual will:

  • Plan, design, implement, and maintain Web-Based Training (WBT) and/or Computer-Based Training (CBT) design documentation, storyboards, courseware and end-user documentation that covers the required knowledge and skills for milCloud® 2.0 personnel and our Mission Partners.
  • Develop, organize, and deliver cloud technical training programs and related materials and/or interactive courseware for milCloud® 2.0 personnel and our Mission Partners.
  • Work with milCloud® 2.0 Team Leaders and their team organizations to establish course objectives, contents and outcomes.
  • Prepare lesson plans from milCloud® 2.0 documentation, software documentation, vendor manuals or field service requirements.
  • Provide surveys and analyze responses to determine applicability of course material and adequacy of training presentation.
  • Ensure course materials reflect current and new offering features.
  • Assess current roles and the skills needed to perform work within areas affected by implementation of new offerings.
  • Identify broad areas of end-user learning and performance support needs.
  • Create and maintain end-user audience analysis and training course outlines.
  • Develop a detailed plan for the development and delivery of education/training materials required to support the new performance management technology, processes, and metrics.
  • Perform internal training assessments.
  • Create training audit and evaluation methods.
  • Participate in any other special projects as required.

PLEASE NOTE:

(1) May have opportunity to work remote.

(2) Support may require weekend and evening work.

(3) Some travel may be required.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent instructional design. Experience may be substituted for educational requirements.
  • 5 years of experience in technical training, curriculum design, and support on computer systems, hardware and software.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visio, Adobe Framemaker, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Captivate.
  • Have a working knowledge of ServiceNow.
  • Knowledge of instructional design practices and the study of the principles and techniques used in designing training programs, developing design strategy and models, and applying design methods to the improvement of instructional effectiveness.
  • Storyboarding for curriculum design and development.
  • Experience with high-end interactive courseware such as virtual reality/augmented reality (VR/AR), gaming, and immersive learning.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work harmoniously in a team environment with our milCloud® 2.0 personnel and our Mission Partners.
  • Ability to negotiate solutions among milCloud® 2.0 Teams. (Operations, Engineering, Product and Accounting, etc.).
  • Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills demonstrated by related work experience.
  • Strong coordination and organization skills with attention to details.
  • Understanding and familiarity with information security practices.
  • Understanding of cloud based environments.
  • Results oriented experience with quick reaction taskers.
  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.

  • Active Top Secret security clearance
