Program Description:  This program supports a new initiative at a cabinet level agency to improve and enhance information sharing efforts. To support this effort, the Senior PKI Engineer will be responsible for building, implementing, and maintaining network and system PKI solution elements including unclassified and classified network components. This includes installing new equipment, troubleshooting PKI compatibility issues, and performing maintenance tasks to maximize uptime, and limit outages.

The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience building, implementing, managing, and maintaining multiple storage elements. The selected candidate will serve as a generalist and will need to be able to balance supporting multiple task lanes.

Functional Duties:

The Sr. PKI Engineer should be able to:

  • Design and implement PKI solutions for our environments
  • Document PKI support playbooks
  • Maintain and optimize PKI solution

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analysis and resolve inefficiencies in the PKI solution
  • Perform day to day maintenance which include configuring, installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor PKI performance and troubleshoot problems and outages.
  • Schedule and perform upgrades
  • Define, document, and enforce industry standards.
  • Design, recommend and implement new solutions to improve PKI resiliency
  • Coordinate with other teams and vendors to resolve issues affecting the PKI.  

To fit into our environment, you must have these core skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree; 4 years’ work experience substitution allowed in lieu of degree
  • 8 years IT engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of network/PKI engineering experience in large scale environments
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, analytical problem-solving ability, and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of:
    • GPOs
    • SCEP
    • Web Enrollment interface to Active Directory
  • Experience standing up Hardware Security Modules effectively
  • Experience working in a fast paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment
  • Ability to work 100% on-site

Highly desired skills:

  • Experience in Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC)
