This Security Officer Senior position provides Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO) support to a large portfolio of Intelligence Agency contracts while serving as the primary Physical/Technical Security Focal Point Officer for one GDIT building and multiple classified secure areas in the vicinity.  Successful candidate is expected to ensure compliance with applicable IC and DOD Security and Counterintelligence requirements to protect Program personnel, information, and facilities from compromise by providing comprehensive Physical, Technical, Communications, Information, Cyber, Personnel, and Operational Security services.  This particular CPSO position’s primary focus on GDIT facilities that support the classified Mission demands prior classified facility operations experience. 

As a member of a small and tightly integrated CPSO team, the successful candidate is expected to be willing to learn to conduct the following tasks in order to provide effective support to teammates:

  • Establish and maintain effective liaison and communications with GDIT and IC Customer Program and Corporate leadership and relevant government and industrial partners to ensure a sophisticated understanding of the Program Security environment in order to anticipate new requirements, emerging threats, and meet challenges to remain compliant with all government and company security policies and procedures.
  • Provide direct security & counterintelligence functional support to GDIT Program leaders, employees, and corporate teammates assigned to current contracts and also to those personnel pursuing new contract opportunities. 
  • Participate in the development and implementation of Personnel, Physical, Technical, Cyber, Communications, Information, Operations, and Program Security procedures in coordination with the government customer and GDIT management.
  • Conduct all manner of security briefings and debriefings required by GDIT and government customers.
  • Develop and conduct security-related training & awareness programs essential to compliance with GDIT and government customer requirements.
  • Report and investigate all suspected security incidents and violations to appropriate GDIT and government authorities and recommend corrective actions and mitigation strategies.
  • Facilitate acquisition and maintenance of government Personnel Security clearances and special accesses and privileges for GDIT personnel.
  • Facilitate the acquisition and maintenance of government Physical and Technical security accreditation of GDIT secure facilities.
  • Facilitate the acquisition and maintenance of government Cyber Security accreditation of GDIT Information Technology assets.
  • Facilitate the control of sensitive and classified information through application of appropriate Operational, Communications, and Information Security plans and procedures.
  • Provide securit teammates with essential information on a continuing basis to provide mutual understanding and virtual situational awareness in order to provide both GDIT and Customer with the most timely and effective security solutions possible.  
  • Participate in special projects as required by GDIT Security & Counterintelligence leadership.

Experience/ Skills Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience directly supporting the Intelligence Community (IC) in an Industrial Security capacity as a Contractor Program Security Officer, Facility Security Officer, Construction Security Manager, or Physical/Technical Security Officer.
  • Strong understanding of IC and DOD Policies governing Industrial Security Programs (NISPOM, ICDs).
  • Outstanding representational, interpersonal, collaborative, and customer service skills.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to undergo polygraph testing.  Must be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI w/CI poly

Experience and Skills Desired:

  • Facility Security Officer, Physical/Technical Security Officer experience with ICD 705.
  • Active TS clearance and SCI eligibility with CI Polygraph.
  • COMSEC custodian experience.
  • CCure 9000, SIMS, or MS Visio Software experience.
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent Facility or Industrial Security experience supporting the IC or DOD.
