GDIT has a position opening for a Solutions Expert to provide technical leadership and support of the ServiceNow platform.  In association with ServiceNow, the candidate will also support the areas of development process improvement, best practice analysis and enforcement, IT planning, solution specification/design, and target architecture development.   The well qualified candidate will have an expert knowledge of ServiceNow (including significant experience deploying ServiceNow across large and complex organizations) along with a holistic understanding of information technology and commercial solutions; and significant experience architecting and developing technical solutions.   

The preferred candidate will have excellent communications skills, a strong customer service orientation, and experience serving as an advisor to federal CIOs and senior IT managers.  Also, the candidate will have experience developing and maturing development teams, mentoring junior talent, and serving as an escalation point for technical issues.

Responsibilities include:

  • Participating as a senior member of the Technology Shared Services – Applications team and working with the other TSS teams to develop target architectures and evaluate IT investment requests.
  • Develop and mature development teams, mentoring junior talent, and serving as an escalation point for technical issues.
  • Serve as the technical expert and decision maker for ServiceNow solutions.
  • Lead and organize ServiceNow development and deployment teams.
  • Develop high level, and possibly implement, ServiceNow solutions for complex customers problems
  • Support surge development efforts including ServiceNow development, peer reviews, testing, and surge leadership.
  • Responding to technical questions and research requests from the supported customers
  • Determine and producing estimated cost of ServiceNow/technical solutions that satisfy the requirements of ServiceNow investment requests
  • Actively participates in business development activities, answering requests for information, and authoring proposals to build GDIT business pipelines.
  • Leads meetings with internal teams and other business areas
  • Potentially as a “chief engineer” responsible for the technical implementation and quality of ServiceNow deliverables.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve ServiceNow development processes and documentation.
  • Providing advice and support for systems development and engineering projects
  • Coordinating with technical subject matter experts (SME) within TSS Applications to obtain specific knowledge or expertise to address technical issues
  • Preparing deliverable reports and briefings

Qualifications:

Mandatory

  • BA/BS or relevant experience and 15 years of relevant experience
  • Expert knowledge of ServiceNow including ITSM and ITOM.
  • Strong experience deploying ServiceNow for large and complex organizations/enterprises
  • Solution architecture experience
  • Strong experience integrating ServiceNow across a wide range of external systems
  • Experience developing lifecycle cost estimates for technical solutions
  • Strong communication, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Customer service orientation

Certifications

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator

  • Certified Implementation Specialist - Service Management

Desirable

  • MA/MS in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Experience architecting and/or leading application modernization initiatives
  • Understanding of federal enterprise architecture concepts
  • ServiceNow experience in ITBM, HR, and SecOps
  • Business analysis skills
