  • Provides problem and incident resolution, including dealing with software and hardware vendor technical support
  • Performs daily system monitoring; verifies the integrity and availability of networking hardware, services, systems, and key processes; reviews system and application logs
  • Provides on-call troubleshooting and issue resolution as required
  • Develops and maintains installation and configuration procedures
  • Collaborate with the Security team to identify and remediate application and operating system vulnerabilities
  • Develop scripts and other automation solutions to aid in the completion of migration and integration tasks.
  • Review problems to understand the root causes of issues and ensure proper fixes are implemented and documented
  • Analyzes voice, video, and/or data communications networks, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices.
  • Plans network layouts and configures systems to user environments. 
  • Analyzes network typologies and traffic and capacity requirements
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting to users.
  • Perform network administration duties to support 24/7 Operational environment.
  • Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced network personnel and may have supervisory responsibilities.
  • May serve as task leader.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
  • Participates in special projects as required.

Network Engineer candidate must have experience with the following:

  • Working Tier 2/ Tier 3 Network related Remedy tickets
  • Work with internal and external customers to fill information gaps and communicate architecture and technical solutions.
  • Assist in the development of the  Network Transport Architecture
  • Develop detailed logical designs in areas of:- Routing Table Virtualization (VRFs)-Cisco MPLS-Security, IDS, VPN and various types of encryption
  • Spanning Tree and Cisco ACI and VSS architectures
  • Multicast architecture
  • Gigabit Ethernet Switching/Routing (OSPF & BGPv4)
  • Implement the above named detailed logical designs
  • Monitor, Troubleshoot and maintain the implemented transport solutions
  • Experience with Juniper and Cisco

Requirements:

  • Security + Certification
  • 10 years of relevant work experience and a bachelor's degree from an accredited university. 
  • A postgraduate degree from an accredited university may substitute for 6 years of experience.
  • Four (4) years’ experience (in addition to minimum experience requirements) to be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.
  • Extensive experience troubleshooting, managing and monitoring the health of routers and switches;
  • Experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting network systems, switching, and routing protocol standards such as: TCP/IP, MPLS, OSPF, BGP, SDN, and 802.1x.
  • Experience managing and troubleshooting DNS, DHCP, IPAM, and NTP in a large multi-site environment
  • Experience managing network equipment
  • Experience using network management and analysis tools such as SNMP probes, network taps, and traffic analyzers
  • Experience documenting network topology using Visio
  • Creating and documenting processes and creating work instructions
  • Experience working as a part of a large team and working directly with customers
  • Excellent hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with supporting teleworkers and remote access technologies
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Experience utilizing Remedy ITSM, or Customer Relationship Management system
  • Experience with IBM NetCool and/or Solarwinds NMS products
  • Experience creating scripts to automate routine administration tasks
  • Experience with network security, including firewall, IDS/IPS, VPN, and vulnerability remediation
