At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Compute Systems Engineer, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on this role to maintain HRSA's Hosting, Network, Security, Server, Identity and Access Management, and Tier II Operations in support of the HRSA mission. 

  • 24x7x365 infrastructure operations support serving in on-call rotation 

  • Hybrid Environment (Azure and on-prem) / Experience in Azure required 

  • Working within team for successful completion of all tasks within the Statement of Work for assigned area of responsibility. That includes: Network, Security, DNS, DHCP, VOIP, Identity and Access Management, and Server Operations. 

  • Will review monitoring tools to identify trends and proactive identification of potential customer impacting events. 

  • Recommending changes to processes or procedures to improve efficiency or reduce costs in future projects. 

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware and software with IT infrastructure.   

 
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED: 

Positions are available at the following three levels: 

Systems Engineer Junior 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field. Four (4) additional years of experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree. 

  • 2+ years of related experience 

  • 1+ years of experience working in a Hybrid (Azure/On-Prem) Application hosting environment with technologies such as: 

  • Compute Systems Engineering (Windows or Linux) 

  • Administration 

  • Patch Management 

  • Vulnerability Remediation 

  • Security Compliance 

  • Performance Monitoring/Tuning 

  • VMware/Azure VM 

  • Windows or Linux 

  • Red Hat Linux 

  • Demonstrated experience with storage (HPE Synergy Blade Server Technology/ HPE OneView) 

  • Demonstrated ability to support a 24x7x365 environment and work in on-call rotation with ability to respond to Rockville or Sterling Data Center 

 

Systems Engineer Mid Level 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field. Four (4) additional years of experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree. 

  • 6+ years of related experience 

  • 3+ years of experience working in a Hybrid (Azure/On-Prem) Application hosting environment with technologies such as: 

  • Compute Systems Engineering (Windows or Linux) 

  • Administration 

  • Patch Management 

  • Vulnerability Remediation 

  • Security Compliance 

  • Performance Monitoring/Tuning 

  • VMware/Azure VM 

  • Windows or Linux 

  • Red Hat Linux

Systems Engineer Senior

  • 10+ years of related experience 

  • 6+ years of experience working in a Hybrid (Azure/On-Prem) Application hosting environment technologies such as: 

  • Compute Systems Engineering (Windows or Linux) 

  • Administration 

  • Patch Management 

  • Vulnerability Remediation 

  • Security Compliance 

  • Performance Monitoring/Tuning 

  • VMware/Azure VM 

  • Windows or Linux 

  • Red Hat Linux 

  • 4+ years of experience with storage (HPE Synergy Blade Server Technology/ HPE OneView) 

  • Demonstrated ability to support a 24x7x365 environment and work in on-call rotation with ability to respond to Rockville or Sterling Data Center 

Desired skills: 

  • ServiceNow 

  • SolarWinds 

  • Tanium 

Clearance:  

Must be able to obtain a Position of Trust and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $69,722 - $116,438. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
