GDIT provides Engineering & Technical Services for the FAA Technical Center's Airport Technology Research & Development (ATRD) Branch for all personnel, facilities, material, and other services necessary to accomplish the Branch mission.
The Airport Technology Research and Development Branch (ATR) is tasked to conduct testing and evaluations of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) detection and mitigation technologies/systems for airports. The research conducted by ATR is highly visible with evolving objectives that has a high impact to airport safety and the National Airspace System (NAS).
