National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) Information Technology Branch (ITB) supports all IT functions, including Infrastructure (Computing, Storage, Desktop Support) and Application Development in support of its scientists, researchers and management. GDIT provides this support with its highly knowledgeable staff of Storage, Unix, Windows engineers, Application developers and Project Managers. The Project Manager will work with GDIT staff and NHGRI Federal employees to execute projects, as well as report and present status to GDIT and NHGRI management.
Employees are currently working remotely but will be expected to work at the client site full time once COVID restrictions are lifted.
In this role a typical day will include:
Managing projects involving IT Infrastructure (Unix, Windows, Storage, Networks).
Creating Project schedules
Monitoring project status and analyzing Risks
Working closely with Senior Project Manager to assess risks and escalate issues
Presenting project status to NHGRI management
Working with Security Leads for ATO and SIA approvals
Interacting with GDIT Infrastructure Engineers and Application Developers
BS/BA (or equivalent) and two years or related experience
Minimum of two years experience in project management involving IT Infrastructure (Unix, Windows, Storage, Networks)
Experience in using Microsoft Teams and SharePoint navigation
Experience with MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project
Experience working in AWS or have AWS certification(s)
Experience working with SharePoint developers
This position requires being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by December 8, 2021 or the start date, if after December 8.
