As an IT Service Manager supporting NSSC, you will be trusted to partner with our customer to lead the group-wide effort to improve efficiency in work processes providing oversight, leadership, coordination of all IT related activities, and manage the Service Provider IT Support Staff to achieve results for NASA.


  • Develops and maintains a peer-to-peer trusted partnership with Client's CIO and Service Delivery Manger.
  • Must be able to achieve success in a complex political multiple client environment.
  • Manages IT department budget, personnel, operations, and strategic planning, including business requirements, project planning, organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources.
  • Ensures the consistency and maintainability of existing applications by creating and enforcing standards and procedures for implementing technical solutions.
  • Performs research, formulates solutions, and recommends plans for acquiring and implementing efficient and cost-effective information and communication technologies.
  • Oversees negotiation and administration of vendor, outsourcer and consultant contracts and service agreements.
  • Reviews performance of IT systems to determine operating costs, productivity levels and upgrade requirements.
  • Maintains and updates Client's information technology and security systems to ensure compliance with federal laws, applicable regulations both domestic and international
  • Develops and implements IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards,, and HQ requirements for field offices.
  • Ensures that IT processes are robust, standardized and support the staff in their day-to-day activities.
  • Ensures that reported issues are resolved quickly and efficiently.
  • Stays up to date on security risks and ensures corporate security; performs regular tests of systems and conducts staff awareness exercises and training sessions.
  • Maintains and fosters a teamwork operating orientation with Client's IT department.


  • Bachelor's degree in information systems or related field or related training and minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience, including direct staff supervision.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Knowledge of business theory, business processes, management, budgeting and business office operations recommended.
  • 5 years of experience managing and/or directing an IT operation.
  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure strategic planning and development in a hybrid environment, project management and policy development.
  • Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through day to day management.
  • Experience with ServiceNow is a plus.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal regulations as they relate to IT.
  • Ability to translate and apply organization's goals and objectives into IT strategy.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills; excellent presentation skills, especially to executive-level audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply IT in solving business problems.
  • Ability to facilitate and coordinate IT-related projects across departments and projects.
  • Ability to conduct and direct research into IT issues and new technologies.
  • Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and self-confident.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in and developing a team-oriented, collaborative work environment at all levels.
