The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation [FDIC] mission is to preserve and promote public confidence in the U.S. financial systems by insuring deposits in banks and thrift institutions for up to $250,000; by identifying, monitoring, and addressing risks to the deposit insurance funds; and by limiting the effect on the account and the financial system when a bank or thrift institution fails. GDIT provides the day-to-day operational services to FDIC in support of infrastructure, facilities, hardware, software, and systems. GDIT supports operational security, client support/help desk, data center operations, asset management, and systems engineering service areas.
GDIT is searching for a talented and experienced IT security professional to join our Endpoint Security Operations team. We are looking for someone with endpoint security operations experience to “hit the ground running.” This environment is very busy and dynamic! U.S. Citizenship and background investigation is required; you must have a current clean financial background. (Though the position is 8-5 M-F, the role requires flexibility to support issues or planned activities after hours, weekends and holidays as needed.) Some telework options available. Successful candidate must possess and be able to demonstrate technical skills and engineering attitude for success, dedication and commitment.
Team members support our clients by engaging in the following day to day activities:
Providing direct support to the client’s endpoint security Subject Matter Expert evaluating technical requirements and ensuring that they are implemented in a timely manner, in keeping with security best practices and the client’s change control processes.
Daily monitoring of system health indicators, working with the server and desktop operations teams to proactively identify and remediate deviances from client-defined parameters.
Troubleshooting and escalation of critical system issues with various engineering and operations groups, and vendor support. Coordinating with application development and engineering teams to evaluate custom endpoint security exception policies in the context of security best practices.
Monitoring deployment of endpoint security products, patches, and hotfixes across the Windows and UNIX environments.
The position requires extensive interaction/communication between team members, other contractors and federal employees and senior managers.
Support endpoint security issues in our production and non-production environments.
Other responsibilities may include:
Conducting security product and suite research;
Evaluating, testing, and configuring various security products;
Installing, configuring, and implementing security solutions.
Required: Basic Qualifications
Advanced operational support for administering endpoint security products including file and e-mail anti-malware, host intrusion prevention, host firewall, device control, Endpoint Security products, to include McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator 5.x, as well as Tripwire, Carbon Black and application whitelisting.
This position requires a minimum of four years’ experience, of which at least three years must be specialized in IT system functional analysis. Must possess advanced functional knowledge of task order specific requirements and have experience in developing functional requirements for complex integrated IT systems. Must demonstrate the ability to work independently or under only general direction. Experience managing Endpoints through McAfee.
A Bachelor’s degree in computer science/systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software engineering/programming, management, natural sciences, social sciences, mathematics or business/finance.
