The Sponsor Directorate Division is responsible for the creation update and maintaining of policy as it pertains to the Directorate's Global asset management for the Sponsor Organization. This work will require interaction among multiple sponsor offices and other property managers. The office is moderately paced and located in Reston for the team of 8 personnel (4 staff and 4 contractors) consisting of 4 Logisticians, 3 Inventory Management Specialists and 1 Administrative Assistant. The team is led by the Deputy Chief with oversight by a Team Lead (TL). This position is predominantly Reston based with opportunities to guide WMA offices at their locations.

 

Daily transactional work to be performed in Directorate and Sponsor accountable property systems, reporting systems and other support related Sponsor systems.

 

Written/verbal or face-to-face communication with in-house customers and other property managers will be required. Excellent verbal/written skills required for correspondence and will be expected to operate with minimal direction and level of autonomy while interacting closely with teammates to meet office goals. Officer may participate in meetings throughout WMA with government vehicle utilization. There will be minimal physical requirements but may be required to lift light boxes or equipment in pursuit of equipment audit inspections.

 

A typical 5 day work week is expected but specific reporting hours are flexible in coordination with management and team to ensure office coverage during core hours (0800-1630). The use of warehouse equipment is not required.

 

Working knowledge of Sponsor logistical and research applications (Sponsor Procurement Systems, Directorate Databases, Accountable Property Database, Package Tracking Database, Sponsor Internal Communications, Access Requests and Sponsor Authorities Database) are very desirable.

 

Strong basic skills with the Microsoft Office suite application, particularly MS Excel, are very favorable.

 

Office training in-house provided in subject materials above as needed and the candidate will need to provide subsequent training to other individuals when necessary.

 

The contractor may serve as responsible officer for accounts in accountable property systems for account overview and assistance. Critical thinking skills required to assist customers with resolution of policy issues, duplication errors, record verification with accuracy updates, and new item inputs. Assist customers with legacy record investigations and research documentation as necessary. Legacy record investigation requires IT applications, verbal, and visual (rare) research as directed and supported by TL and management. This research required is generic and easily achievable with the supported guidance. May require travel within area to assist officers with physical inventory and record review.

 

Will maintain daily tasker for metric review by managment. Run standardized reports for Division Managers weekly as required for Directorate offices and update reports as necessary. Review and analyze regular reports to identify areas of deficiency for action with customers and management. Until the contractor is up to speed, discrepancies should be reported to TL and DC. Once the contractor has the proper experience, they will have the autonomy to solve discrepancies. Suggest improvements to processes, SOPs, handbooks or training materials to assist customers with property compliance. The SOPs will be updated with management input.
