SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) - Secret clearance - Point Mugu, CA

GDIT is looking for a SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to join our winning team. The individual hired for this position will provide support for our government customer, Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD).

NAWCWD primarily operates in two Southern California locations: China Lake and Point Mugu, CA. In order to provide improved service capabilities to current and future NAVAIR operations, NAWCWD is modernizing and optimizing the infrastructure that currently supports electronic warfare systems development and testing activities.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems

• Applies knowledge of API (Application Programing Interface) for data services and databases

• Administers and maintains the EWDS database including writing functions and stored procedures for optimum functionality and configuration management

• Optimizes the navigation and searchability of the EWDS database by building and maintaining complex queries

• Prepares system requirements, source analysis and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation

• Defines database organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation

• Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned

• May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals

• May serve as a team or task lead

Qualifications:

• Active Secret clearance

• BA/BS or equivalent, 5+ years of experience

• Experience with MS SQL Server is required

• Experience with PostgreSQL a plus
