The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation [FDIC] mission is to preserve and promote public confidence in the U.S. financial systems by insuring deposits in banks and thrift institutions for up to $250,000; by identifying, monitoring, and addressing risks to the deposit insurance funds; and by limiting the effect on the account and the financial system when a bank or thrift institution fails. GDIT provides the day-to-day operational services to FDIC in support of infrastructure, facilities, hardware, software, and systems. GDIT supports operational security, client support/help desk, data center operations, asset management, and systems engineering service areas.

GDIT seeks a Senior Network Manager with supervision experience.  US Citizenship is required. Background investigation is required; you must have a current clean financial background.

Resource must have experience managing Network Operations and Engineering resources in installing, configuring, and migrating Juniper Switches, Routers, Security devices along with the supporting OS software.   The candidate must have experience in troubleshooting, performance tuning, capacity planning, user management, network task automation, and client communication across multiple technology platforms. 

Task and responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Deliver presentations to senior technology management teams; to communicate project or team status
  • Perform project planning and project management tasks to provide on-time delivery of project deliverables and overall project completion
  • Use analysis, logic and reasoning to troubleshoot issues and find the best solutions to challenges
  • Couple network service delivery skills with business continuity skills to ensure network projects and operational initiatives do not adversely affect the business
  • Manage multiple tasks with conflicting priorities
  • Responsible for technical client communication for the Network Support team and escalations to both client and GDIT management team as necessary
  • Responsible as for the daily service review status; the candidate must be able to clearly articulate the technical issues and other relevant details to both GDIT and client during these calls
  • Manage the relationship with key business customers, develop an understanding of business needs and priorities, and deliver solutions that meet those business needs.
  • Provide input to the Product Owner/Business Sponsor on the product strategy and vision, and giving feedback on the content and prioritization of the product backlog
  • Provide advice and technical guidance to teams on difficulties that arise in the course of doing their work
  • Identifying issues to teams that they might overlook, such as scalability, performance, or security.
  • Providing mentorship, career development advice, skills development and training, and overall guidance to team members and leads.
  • Lead the recruitment and hiring of new team members, with the active involvement and input of existing team members
  • Identify and address service delivery and customer service concerns

To qualify, you must meet these basic qualifications: 

  • Must have more than ten years of IT network operations management experience, minimum of five years hands-on experience with networking, firewalls, routing and switching, Network Operations Center, telephony and Video Teleconferencing.
  • This candidate must have experience managing teams with 10 or more people
  • Must possess a BS or equivalent and five years related experience, or a MS and three years related experience or no degree and nine years.
