Our work depends on an OSP Engineer joining our team to support the Army customers in various locations.
At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As an OSP Engineer supporting a federal government customer, you will be trusted to focus on providing Outside Plant engineering site survey analysis, engineering design, and preparation of final engineering drawings and change orders as required.
In this role, a typical day will include:
Analyze requirements, develop solutions, provide list of materials for OSP.
Conduct site surveys, document findings, brief Government stakeholders and develop a workable solution ensuring it is within scope, achievable and complies with the customer’s design criteria.
Provide OSP/Power/Grounding designs.
Document engineering solutions and provides support to PM on customer status and review presentations.
Travel to other company locations or Customer Sites as necessary
Proactively ensure a safe work environment and adhere to EH&S policies and procedures
Ensure that contract specifications and quality are met whether explicitly or implicitly implied per the following: Fiber optic and copper cable outside plant performance requirements, USAISEC, OSPDPR requirements, Telecommunications Industries Association (TIA) Cabling Standards, Rural Utilities Services (RUS) Telecommunications Standards for Outside Plant
Attend meetings held on installation/implementation progress for the site/base personnel
If required, obtain/retain a government security clearance at the level required to perform the duties of the position
Understand and adhere to all GDIT Ethical and Compliance policies
Perform other duties as required
**HEAVY TRAVEL REQUIREMENT to other Locations or Customer Sites as necessary
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical area or equivalent combination of education, skills and experience in related discipline
5+ years related experience
Knowledge of Microsoft software applications and other software applications as required (Visio, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
Extremely detailed oriented
Must be willing to travel a significant amount of time
Pass GDIT background screening prior to start
THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE
Experience working with Army Customers.
Experience using Autodesk AutoCAD
BICSI RCDD or OSP Designer Certification preferred

The likely salary range for this position is $58,781 - $98,176, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
