Our work depends on a DevSecOps/AWS Developer joining our team to support CMS activities in a MD location.

At GDIT, we put our people first. As a DevSecOps/AWS Developer supporting CMS, you will be trusted to  ensure the system’s high availability and maintain program Service Level Agreements (SLA’s).  DevSecOps/AWS Developer will collaborate closely with developers and other technology personnel to develop, migrate and manage services in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environment, and in physical data centers.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Learn and implement new technologies or build them independently

  • Agile software development, DevSecOps best practices, CI/CD pipeline experience

  • 3-5 years development or cloud operations experience working with cross functional teams

  • 3-5 years contributing to or leading DevOps or DevSecOps projects and/or Kubernetes deployments

  • Solid understanding of containers and container security with hands on experience with AWS container services, Docker, and/or Kubernetes.

  • Experience with one or more of the following programming/scripting languages: Python, Ruby, Powershell, Bash, Java, PHP, Perl and using them to deliver automated solutions through CI/CD pipelines.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • A Bachelor’s degree specializing in Business, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or Computer Science plus 10 years of relevant experience required.

  • 3-5 years of experience automating and managing Linux infrastructure

  • Demonstrated DevSecOps experience in designing and deploying enterprise level cloud environments, compliant with NIST 800-53 or other security standards. 

  • Expertise in DevOps deployments within AWS cloud architectures, services, and/or environments to include automating Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

  • 3-5 years of experience with fundamental internet protocols such as DNS, HTTP, and TCP.

  • 3-5 years of experience with high availability technologies

  • 3-5 years of experience with network infrastructure

  • 1 year of experience using AWS FedRamp Services (hands-on)

  • 3 years of experience with integrating with micro services (hands-on)

  • 5 years of experience with specifying, designing, and/or implementing system health, performance monitoring tools, and software management tools for 24x7 environments

  • 5 years of experience with ensuring efficient operations and failure mode analysis in large complex distributed systems.

Desired Education and Experience

  • AWS certification

  • Expert with AWS EC2/AMI and cloud formation templates

  • Possess proficient communication skills to lead and implement various concepts like scalability, automation, and security and compliance monitoring across enterprise cloud environments hosted within AWS.

  • Possess technical proficiencies and familiarity in DevOps culture with a keen interest in cybersecurity and up-to-date knowledge of threats and trends 

  • Knowledge of the implementation of risk assessment techniques and the latest security best practices. 

  • Knowledge of microservices such as AWS EKS, Docker, or Kubernetes, and experience using CI/CD tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Maven, Bitbucket, Git, AWS CodeCommit, and/or AWS CloudFormation

  • Experience with AWS offerings such as EC2, ELB, ASG, RDS, DynamoDB, EMR. 

  • Experience with AWS, DevOps principles, database design, Cloud Monitoring, Storage Management, Automation and Optimization, Batch Processing, AWS Managed Services

  • Experience with unit testing, code reviews, merge requests, and continuous integration.

  • Exposure to Agile/SCRUM methodologies, iterative development.

  • Experience supporting the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)

The likely salary range for this position is $96,000 - $144,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
