Job Description

Business Development Manager

GDIT’s Intelligence & Homeland Security Division is seeking an IC person interested in transitioning to support business development and capture activities for the IC in GDIT’s Mission Solutions Sector (MSS) and our National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) client.  The successful candidate will assist in identifying, qualifying, and pursuing new business opportunities within the NGA and related markets across the sector. Prefer candidates who have a network of relationships at NGA and demonstrate an understanding of the NGA and partner agencies including organizational structure, mission priorities, and general procurement approaches.  You will leverage this knowledge to develop customer and partner engagement plans and provide leadership with recommendations in the marketplace leading to the development and execution of GDIT go-to-market account plans.  The breadth and depth of our business portfolio and the scale of GDIT ensure that you can take on new challenges and new roles as our business and mission-impact expands.

There is some flexibility for hybrid/remote work, but the selected candidate’s primary office location will be our Springfield, Virginia office (Patriot Ridge).  Duties include:

  • Provide business development support for the NGA account including support across the new business capture lifecycle - from opportunity identification, qualification, win strategy development, proposal development and the post submission phases of the business capture lifecycle
  • Work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to formulate, communicate and implement an integrated business development and capture strategy that provides customers a clear and defensible justification for selecting GDIT for the award
  • Assist to develop and implement campaign plans and strategies, maintain a firm comprehension of the customer's requirements, understand the strengths/weaknesses of our competitors, and develop/implement winning strategies that highlight strengths and mitigate weaknesses
  • Perform business development services including networking and research to increase business and maintain a current knowledge base of opportunities
  • Lead with New Business Reviews, Business Area Reviews, Opportunity Gate Reviews
  • Work Meet with current and potential clients to ascertain their requirements and apprise them of company capabilities and solutions
  • Support the development of white papers, proposals, solutions, plans of action, business plans, and marketing materials
  • Assist Sector Growth collaboratively with the Capture Manager and Operations Lead to pursue opportunities
  • Interact with a broad range of departments to develop technical, management, teaming, transition, relevant experience, and pricing strategies
  • Participate in strategy, technical, and pricing reviews
  • Co-Lead with the Proposal Manager the proposal reviews
  • Actively review proposals and provide recommendations for improvement that increases probability of win

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business-related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work/military experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the IC working with IC program managers and stakeholders
  • Self-starter; demonstrated experience in managing and completing tasks on time
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously across the acquisition life-cycle
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the Intelligence Community and DoD with direct client management experience of the NGA and/or similar IC agency
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate IC mission needs into business opportunities
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships in the IC and work as part of a highly dynamic team

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of related marketing and business development experience
  • Master’s Degree
  • Experience working with the NGA or similar agency (operational experience in the IC)
  • Ability to provide customer insight and business knowledge
