US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation System eXtended (US BICES-X) is a cutting edge program supporting DoD intelligence information sharing on current and emerging global threats to mission and coalition partners and emerging nations. With an internationally dispersed team supporting each combatant command, the US BICES-X team is in direct support of the warfighter and their missions. We are seeking a creative and driven professional with a passion for solving real world issues on a cross-functional, fast paced team.

We are seeking a highly experienced project manager to lead enterprise IT projects. The position is primarily located in Ft. Meade, MD, with occasional weekly travel needed to Fairfax, VA and/or Springfield, VA.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate, manage and execute project activities from large or complex tasks that may include enterprise systems integration, data maintenance and migration, and other analysis of projects.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Apply earned value management methodology for project progress and success. Projects will vary in scope and size depending on the nature of the requirement.
  • Lead the development, maintenance, and implementation of standard operating procedures, and seek methods to continuously improve organizational processes.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with various engineering teams, vendors and other non-GDIT contract personnel.
  • Design and develop project baseline schedules, support implementing and maintaining integrated master schedule (IMS) and work breakdown structures (WBS).
  • Identify risks affecting project cost, schedule, performance, and support development of alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules.
  • Articulate decision points, milestones, progression and interdependence of the project tasks to provide program with a clear picture of the project schedule.
  • Develop and present project updates to customer and facilitate weekly customer briefings.
  • Compile weekly activity reports and performance metrics.
  • Identify and communicate significant schedule risks to staff and management team.
  • Conduct project management and PjMO training to the program, or as requested.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • Must possess and maintain a Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Experience managing large, complex projects in a high-tech development environment with multi-function teams
  • Understanding of project management process of ascertaining work, executing work, and post-project procedures.
  • Expert knowledge and experience in blending traditional project management principles and practices with an Agile development approach.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands.
  • Must be well-versed with MS Project
  • Solid experience with project budgeting, scheduling, and earned value management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite/Tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.

Desired Qualifications:

  • PMP Certification
  • ITIL V4 Foundation within six months of hire.
  • Experience with JIRA
  • Demonstrated understanding of DoD information technology systems, tools, process, or organizations.

The work is typically performed in an office environment, which requires normal safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment.
