Technical Desk Officers apply advanced knowledge and expertise of customer's technical operations, operational tradecraft, and enterprise priorities when providing strategic guidance and operational case management. In addition, they are responsible for program management throughout the customer's internal procedures, from traditional operational activities to specialized initiatives. Technical Desk Officers provide objective reviews of ongoing and potential operations and serve as the vital link between personnel in the field, USSOCOM and the Intelligence Community (IC).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct and assist in technical operations planning and IC coordination.
Draft and coordinate cables and briefings in support of SOF Technical Operations.
Provide close support and coordination with field elements.
Manage and track ongoing program progress; staff appropriate approvals; conduct substantive briefings; communicate client guidance to global resources.
Conduct detailed analysis using government databases and writing standards.
Support a wide range of operational and programmatic activities to manage operations in specific geographic areas, or against specific issues.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Abilities:
Bachelor's degree and/or at least 10+ years of relevant professional experience
TS/SCI and CI Poly
Familiarity with cable writing and classified databases.
Strong briefing and writing skills as well as the ability to work well with teams or individually with minimal supervision
Initiative, creativity, technical excellence, and strong interpersonal and communication skills
Prior experience in supporting intelligence operations or familiarity with the Intelligence Community and its objectives
Desired Qualifications:
Foreign field experience from at least one overseas tour or extensive overseas TDY experience
Experience in SOF Operations / Analysis / Support to SOF Field Operations
Experience using customer databases to monitor field traffic and communicate with field offices
Extensive knowledge of USSOCOM core activities and operations
Experience providing support to sensitive activities conducted by SOF unites or Commands at the 0-6 level or above (Group, TSOC, GCC)
