At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Database Developer supporting the customer, you will be trusted with day-to-day operations and maintenance. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Senior level Microsoft Exchange administration
  • Design and architecture new and upgrade product line
  • Mail flow
  • SMTP protocol
  • RFC 5321
  • RFC 974
  • User and mailbox management
  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • COOP Management
  • Training field engineers how to COOP
  • SSP documentation and certification
  • PKI Certificates
  • Monthly Microsoft Patching and CUs
  • Senior level Skype for Business administration
  • Skype Persistent Chat Room administration
  • Federation administration
  • SQL administration w/Mirroring

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years related experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchang
  • Experience with Skype for Business

Analyzes customer requirements and develops technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.

Applies knowledge of API (Application Programing Interface) for data services and databases.

Designs, develops, builds, analyzes, evaluates, installs and administers database management systems to include database modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata and repository creation and configuration management.

Designs and implements databases with respect to access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, ETL tasks, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods

Prepares system requirements, source analysis and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation.

Defines and oversees database organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation.

May provide technical consulting in the definition, design, and creation of a database environment.

Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

Provides guidance and leadership to less-experienced database personnel.

May serve as a team or task leader. (Not a people manager)

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 8+ years of experience
