GDIT is seeking a Senior Network Administrator with extensive familiarity with DoD security requirements to help support the 513th Electronic Warfare Squadron (EWS).
As a Senior Network Administrator, for the 513th EWS at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, you will provide ongoing support for the functionality and efficiency of computer networks (LAN/WAN), ensuring compliance with DoD security requirements. Designs, installs, maintains, and coordinates the use of network systems. Monitors and manages data traffic/network performance and controls network resource performance to ensure high-quality transmission. Troubleshoots and resolves problems to ensure quality transmission service on the network.
In this role, a typical day will include:
Designing, Installing, maintaining, and coordinating the use of network systems, including network control software, routers, switches, lines, modems, adapters, and servers
Evaluates existing network systems to ensure network capacity meets current and future network requirements
Analyzes customer requirements to determine optimal network solutions
Monitors network performance and troubleshoots and resolves complex problems to maintain operating efficiency and ensure high-quality transmission service on the network
Uses subject matter expertise to diagnose and solve issues and develops new standard operating procedures when needed.
Knowledgeable on integrating network device authentication with Microsoft Active Directory.
Plans, installs, and maintains network systems for multiple classifications
May provide installation, maintenance and repair of network hardware and software
Develops and/modifies process and technical documentation. Creates back-up procedures, test plans, and related reports
Plans and diagrams the physical layout and location of devices and the connection between devices participating on the network
Provides sustainment and STIG-compliance for all network devices in accordance with AFI 17-101, JSIG, and DISA compliance standards.
Evaluates and recommends networking product and software upgrades
Maintains cybersecurity certification in accordance with DoDD 8140 standards.
Maintains operating efficiency and stability, and ensures the security and integrity of all systems and data
May function in a "Tier 3" support role, resolving the most complex network issues escalated by Tier 2 support
May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals
May serve as a team or task lead
Qualifications:
Active DoD Secret Level Security Clearance
Security + or equivalent certification
3+ years’ experience
Desired Qualifications:
Associates degree or higher
Relevant certifications, such as CCNA, CCNP, Network+, or other vendor-specific certifications
Familiarity with CISCO brand network devices
Strong understanding of network protocols, topologies, and architectures
