General Dynamics Information Technology has an immediate opening for a Full Motion Video (FMV) Systems Engineer on a highly important and exciting program.
This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Information Technology employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to perform technical activities that impact the design, testing, and implementation of systems, software, and applications, including our FMV exploitation capabilities: the Multi-INT Analysis and Archiving System (MAAS).
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
The FMV Systems Engineer is a systems engineer with a proactive mindset to maintain and update systems as part of an Agile team that supports mission operations.
As part of the team you will support Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipeline activities involving end-to-end system performance validation efforts with a focus on communicating effectively with customers, team members, and end users in a 24/7 operational environment.
SHIFT: This is not a shift role. Core hours are 8 AM €“ 4 PM EST with flexibility on either end. Ad hoc support is required as needed for requests that fall outside this core window.
The ideal candidate must be able to work independently under pressure and effectively identify, recommend, and problem solve system issues to ensure systems, software, and applications are properly configured to meet customer needs in the 24/7 operational environment.

Jira (ticket system)
Basic windows script knowledge. You should be able to understand a batch file. This includes following the path of the configuration in the batch file; creating your own batch files to perform desired tasks; and troubleshooting batch files to see where they may be broken.
Reporting information to team members and leadership (status reports, metrics, logs)
Supporting daily/weekly group meetings
Knowledge of the imagery exploitation lifecycle, and various imagery systems
On call 24/7 tier 2 support
Key Foundational Skills:
Strong hands-on experience
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Problem-solver, well-versed in troubleshooting
Flexible and versatile enough to work on a variety of different tasks and technologies
Self-starter, does not need training in software engineering/computer science fundamentals
Strong understanding and application of engineering principles, practices, and standards
Ability to multitask and sustain multiple operational systems simultaneously based on current operational needs
Preferred Experience and Skills:
MAAS (Multi-int Analysis and Archive System)
Haivision, encoder technology and video routing
Well-informed of current and future technologies
Planning and tracking team delegation
Subject matter expert (SME) in one discipline/field and developing working knowledge in adjacent disciplines/fields
Strong background supporting intelligence and FMV operations
Documentation/SOP creation and maintenance

SALARY POSTED IS MARKET ESTIMATE AVERAGE AT A 8 YEAR EXPERIENCED CANDIDATE GOOD FAITH MARKET ESTIMATE. Actualy salary will be based on EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, CLEARANCE AND INTERVIEW.
