GDIT DOJ/OJP team is looking for a dynamic and experienced Reporting and Data Analytics lead to guide and build our client's Data Analytics Center of Excellence. Our client is engaging in a significant overhaul of its legacy IT environment and approach. You will play a pivotal role in the planning and execution of this modernization effort. While working closely with senior Federal staff, the enterprise reporting team and using your deep understanding of traditional and NextGen Analytics, you will reshape OJP’s approach to data sharing and enterprise reporting.

You will be expected to lead a team of engineers to

  • Design and define data system architectures for integration of multiple platforms, and applications across the enterprise
  • Determine systems specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for software compatibility
  • Work closely with the enterprise data architect and development teams to implement a NextGen approach to enterprise reporting and data analytics.
  • Coordinate design of subsystems and integration of total system. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves program support deficiencies
  • Develop and document the framework for integration and implementation for changes to technical standards.
  • Develop and recommend corrective actions and provide technical guidance for database administrators and software developers.

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated technical depth and experience in the field of enterprise reporting and data analytics
  • Significant experience across diverse technology stack including both Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) and Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) database systems
  • Familiarity with NoSQL and non-traditional data management approaches
  • Experience with multiple database engines including Oracle, MSSQL and SQLServer
  • Experience using Relational, Dimensional and other approaches related to NoSQL databases
  • Experience with Socrata
  • Experience with Data Lakes in AWS
  • Experience with ETL tools (AWS Glue, S3, Python, EMR, Spark, SQL , MySql)
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-function technical teams
  • Familiarity with Kanban and other Agile development approaches
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 12+ years of experience
  • 5+ years leading teams in an Agile environment

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with big data concepts and approaches. examples include, the Hadoop ecosystem and related technical stack (i.e. HDFS, Hive, Spark)
  • Familiarity with cloud-based tooling, for example AWS RedShift, AWS EMR, Azure Data Lake Analytics etc.
  • Familiarity with data visualization platforms

Contract Requirements

  • This contract requires US citizenship
  • Must be able to obtain a DOJ/OJP Public Trust clearance
