At GDIT, we foster a people-centric environment. As a Storage Architect supporting this Maryland customer, you will be trusted to work on Storage, Backup, and Database systems. In this role, a typical day will include:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with the customer and other teams to solve challenges

  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ongoing storage recommendations, capacity planning and best practices, as applicable, for the following areas: business continuity, high availability, backup, recovery, and archiving.  This includes working closely with the SAN and tape library teams

  • Reviewing (and understanding) the high-level storage architect drawings at the enterprise level

  • Monitoring and restoring day-to-day operational backup solutions (NetBackup)

  • Monitoring and supporting day-to-day operational storage systems (Oracle ZFS)

  • Monitoring, supporting, and troubleshooting the Nutanix enterprise-ready hypervisor

  • Your success will be measured through meeting the challenges in this world-wide Enterprise IT environment

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Education & Years of relevant experience:

  • High School degree or GED with fifteen (15) years of relevant experience OR

  • Associate’s degree with twelve (12) years of relevant experience OR

  • Bachelor’s degree with ten (10) years of relevant experience OR

  • Master’s degree with eight (8) years of relevant experience OR

  • Doctorate with six (6 years of relevant experience.

  • DoD 8570 Requirement: One of the following DoD approved certifications is required to meet the category/level IAT-2 DoD 8570 requirement for this position: Security+ CE, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA-Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), CASP+ CE, GCIH, GCED, CCNP Security, CySA+, or GICSP 

  • Key Technical skills:

  • Solid tape library background to include:

  • Experience with ACSLS, and ACSLS Security is preferred

  • Experience with tape and disk used in a SAN environment with RH Linux servers

  • StorNext File system and storage manager experience.

  • Experience in administering the Netapp Storage system on Data OnTap and Active IQ Unified Manager

  • Experience in storage using multiprotocol environment like CIFS and NFS in the Netapp SAN/NAS environment

  • Experience in installing, configuring, maintaining and implementing the Netapp storage at the enterprise environment

  • Experience in installing, configuring, and administering the network switches (Cisco switch)

  • Experience in the administration of the Windows Active Directory

  • Security clearance required: Top Secret/SCI with Poly

  • Must be available for on-call support.

  • Must be open to the possibility of travel (CONUS & OCONUS), anticipate less than 5%.
