Your Background and Interests:

You are an experienced Java developer who has worked in multiple domains, and you have significant experience building web applications from start to finish and from browser to database. You have experience in optimizing development and supporting DevSecOps in a cloud environment. You have used modern development tools to design and develop well-architected web applications that are scalable, reliable, flexible, secure, and resilient. You are experienced in modern single-page web application development.

You enjoy breaking down complex problems into simple and practical solutions, and you thrive in an environment where you have a voice and can actively impact team performance through innovative process and development improvements

Core Responsibilities:

Design and develop new web applications and services and be a major contributor to migrating existing applications and services to new solutions. Maintain and support existing web applications, including some evening and weekend hours.

Your Qualifications & Job Requirements:

We invite you to apply if you have a BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or in a related field and a minimum of 10 years’ web development experience. A different engineering, scientific or technical degree in combination with relevant work experience may be considered. The position level and salary are commensurate with education and experience. You have the following skills and experience:

  • Proven expertise in both Java/JEE and JavaScript/HTML/CSS
  • Proficiency with Core Java programming, Servlets, multi-threading, JEE design patterns and object oriented design
  • Experience with Service Oriented Architecture, Spring Boot, Maven, Hibernate or jOOQ, and RESTful Web Services
  • Hands-on experience with a JavaScript framework for single page applications (Angular and TypeScript preferred)
  • Familiarity with browser and web technologies, including dynamic data retrieval, asynchronous events, and evolving web technologies
  • Writing automated unit tests and API tests
  • Developing robust, enterprise-class web sites
  • Analyzing customer requirements
  • Designing innovative solutions in collaboration with other team members
  • Writing and tuning SQL and noSQL database queries
  • Creating distributed and event driven designs in AWS or another cloud environment
  • Designing data models and web APIs
  • Developing and deploying code through a Devops CI/CD pipeline
  • Securing APIs and applications with OAuth2
  • Working closely with users in an iterative development environment
  • Providing operational user support
  • Mentoring team members
  • Supporting US Federal Government clients
  • GIS or map software experience a plus

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 10+ years of experience
