Job Description

Technical Lead - .NET and ColdFusion

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. We are looking for a ColdFusion Developer to support the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). VAERS is a post-marketing surveillance system that monitors adverse events that occur after a vaccine has been administered.

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead with extensive experience in .NET technologies and ColdFusion working in Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software development principles and practices, front-end technologies such as Angular and React, as well as a proven ability to lead and mentor a team of developers.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Lead a team of developers in the design, development, and implementation of software solutions using .NET technologies with experience with ColdFusion (ideal candidate will have migrated from ColdFusion to .NET) as well as front-end technologies such as Angular and React
Collaborate with project managers, stakeholders, and other technical leads to define project scope, requirements, and timelines
Develop and maintain software using industry best practices and design patterns
Ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards by performing code reviews and providing feedback to team members
Mentor and train junior developers to improve their technical skills and contribute to their professional growth
Identify and address technical risks and issues that may impact project delivery or software quality
Participate in the hiring process by interviewing candidates and assessing their technical skills and experience
Involve in technical architecture design and ability to create Architecture diagrams and project presentations

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development using ColdFusion and .NET technologies
Strong understanding of software development principles and practices, including Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
Strong knowledge of database design and SQL
Experience with front-end technologies such as Angular and React
Experience with web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery
Experience with version control systems such as Git
Experience with cloud-based services and infrastructure such as Microsoft Azure
Excellent communication skills, written and interpersonal
Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of developers
Ability to work independently and as part of an Agile team in a fast-paced environment
Top-notch troubleshooting skills and a diagnostic intuition to solve challenging problems
Ability to obtain a VA Position of Public Trust – Medium Background Investigation (MBI)
US Citizenship is required

PREFERRED:

Experience with other web technologies such as Java, PHP, Ruby on Rails or ColdFusion
Familiarity with other cloud-based services and infrastructure such as Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Experience with DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins, Docker, or Kubernetes
Strong analytical skills

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $124,000 - $186,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
