GDIT is searching for a Systems Administrator to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) in Dahlgren, VA.
The Systems Administrator will be responsible for providing installation, maintenance and troubleshooting support of information systems applications and related peripheral hardware in support of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). Assesses user needs and is able to solve a range of problems. Provides installation of new equipment and performs equipment modifications or enhancements. Prepares and maintains documentation for processes for policies and procedures related to computer systems and operations.
The Systems Administrator tasks include:
Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects.
Provides technical solutions to a range of difficult problems.
Provides installation and troubleshooting support of a range of moderately complex issues for systems applications and related peripheral hardware.
Provides incident response and performs customer support tasks.
Deploys a variety of new hardware, software, and the upgrade of existing installations.
Prepares and maintains a range of documentation for processes and procedure related to computer systems and operations.
Qualifications:
Secret clearance w/SSBI (T5)
BA/BS or equivalent
2+ years of experience in Computer Operations, Customer Support, or another related area
Familiarity with an operating system and its commands/utilities at a user level such as editing files, issuing commands, finding user home directories, navigating through a file system, and using I/O redirection
Professional and effective communication skills (both verbal and written) between customers, team members, and line management
Ability to work independently or as part of a team with guidance from senior leadership and through the use of SOPs
