Primary work place will be the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) located at Fort Belvoir, VA, when COVID restrictions are lifted. Must be within telecommuting distance (less than 50 miles) to DAU in order to participate in onsite meetings several times a week.
Must be a Section 508 compliant subject matter expert and have an Instructional Designer (ISD) background and experience to be able to train DAU faculty and staff and development team on the proper techniques in developing 508 compliant formal and informal training products. Will be required to create presentations and job aids to formally present to DAU stakeholders, faculty and staff, on developing courses in the various authoring tools to meet Section 508 compliance standards. Expect regular meetings onsite at DAU once COVID restrictions are lifted.
Oversees the technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems to include development of job aids to assist DAU stakeholders and faculty with section 508 compliance instructional content development.
Oversee the analysis of employee learning needs and subject matter expert partnership.
Oversee outlining tasks for the concept for course or curriculum, defining the needs for the course, the course medium, content delivery, assessments, accompanying materials, and complementary learning approaches.
Oversee the development of learning solution documentation (e.g., storyboards, project schedules, video scripts, job aids, and courseware).
Oversee the development and monitoring metrics for evaluating training and development effectiveness.
Apply instructional design methodologies.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Also possesses excellent interpersonal and teaching skills.
Contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards.
May coach and review the work of less-experienced professionals.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 5+ years of experience developing section 508 compliant training materials
DHS 508 trusted tester certification preferred.
