GDIT's Military Health Team is hiring a Clinical Research Associate/ Psychometrist to support the Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellent (TBI CoE) located at Walter Reed in Bethesda, MD.
As the TBI Pathway of Care manager within the MHS, the Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellence promotes state-of-the-science care from point-of-injury to reintegration for service members, veterans, and their families to prevent and mitigate consequences of mild to severe TBI.
The Research Associate/Psychometrist will support the Congressionally Mandated 15-Year study to examine outcome from traumatic brain injury in a military population and the effect on family members. The Research Associate will plan, conduct, and complete investigations under the supervision of the lead of the project. S/he will participate in all aspects of research including data collection, organization, literature reviews, structured interviews, neuropsychological testing, analysis and interpretation of basic data and will assist with the preparation of technical reports, summaries, and protocols.
What you'll Be Doing:
Conduct full neuropsychological batteries including scoring of those measures.
Conduct comprehensive clinical interviews and medical record reviews (e.g., traumatic brain injury, bodily injury, neurological, medical, mental health, and psycho-social history, medication use, health care utilization, health care needs, barriers to care, return to work/duty, and employment and education status).
Case conference clinical interviews and medical record reviews (e.g., determine index injuries, assign experimental groups, determine injury severity and classification coding).
Administer telephone/web-based questionnaires and computerized neurocognitive tests.
Consent participants when required.
Take part in recruitment activities when required.
Complete and maintain paperwork and electronic systems related to participant processing.
Accurately collect and process all study related data, assist with data export, data coding, and perform quality control procedures.
Maintain research records in compliance with regulatory requirements.
What You'll Need (required):
Bachelor's Science/Arts degree in psychology, counseling or related field required.
Must have Human Subjects training completed.
1 + years of experience in research required.
1+ years prior experience administering clinical interviews and psychological tests is required.
Knowledge of standard qualitative and quantitative data collection techniques.
Familiarity with social science research methodology is required. Ability to follow detailed instructions. Excellent communication and analytical skills required. S/he must adhere to legal, professional and ethical codes with respect to confidentiality and privacy.
US citizenship required with the ability to obtain/maintain a T3 security investigation.
What Would Be Even Better (preferred):
Master's degree highly preferred.
Prior experience within the DoD/VA systems of care strongly preferred.

Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to carry light items – up to 25 lbs.
May encounter patients who are confused, agitated, or abusive.
