We are GDIT. We think. We act. We deliver. There is no challenge we can’t turn into opportunity. And our work depends on a Business/Data Analyst joining our team to support the Division of Federal Systems (DFS) within the Office of Child Support Enforcement (OCSE) in Washington, DC

In this role, responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for working with LOB teams and managers to capture requirements and document user stories related to management information needs.
  • Responsible for developing requirements and advising on the approach to capturing and reporting performance metrics for both on-going maintenance activities and new initiatives.
  • Assist Federal Managers and coordinate with the Program Strategic Advisor with using data to support business decisions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor for the Management Information Central Repository System (MICRS) and MICRS-Research System (MICRS-RS) development teams.
  • Attend MICRS system team meetings and backlog grooming sessions to advise on prioritization and business needs for management information.
  • Attend MICRS-RS system meetings, provide direction for analysis, assist with meeting coordination, and ensure dissemination of information learned through these meetings.
  • Periodically review standard and on-demand reports to ensure that data presented is up-to-date and useful in answering business questions.
  • Develop dashboards and other data visualization for LOB teams and Federal staff.
  • Assist analysts in other LOB areas with maximizing their use of existing data analytics and reporting tools.
  • Analyze macro-level data from Federal systems as well as data submitted to OCSE by State Child Support Agencies.
  • Develop ad-hoc and analyses reports as needed.
  • Prepare data presentations for senior management utilizing Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, and other BI tools.
  • Present analysis of OCSE data at state, regional, and national conferences, as requested.
  • Perform research data analysis to identify statistical trends and patterns of state agencies against the national averages. 
  • Assist with analyzing and estimating operational and program costs, preparing cost benefit analyses, and defining metrics to quantify the success and return on investment for new initiatives.
  • Support internal and external reporting requirements, especially in the areas of CPIC, IT Portfolio Management, and Enterprise Architecture.
  • Perform other administrative, technical, functional, and support duties as assigned.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years’ experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience in government financial analysis and cost/benefit analysis
  • Experience designing and developing presentations that summarize the results of analytical work for managers and executives
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and the ability to work independently in a high stress environment.
  • Self-motivation and intellectual curiosity; the ability to come up with new research queries and questions without explicit direction.
  • An orientation towards customer service, including being proactive and providing recommendations to customers for new direction.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree
  • 5 years experiences in data analytics and/or requirements analysis
  • Experience in client relations, including requirements gathering and training.
  • Familiarity with OMB reporting requirements for Federal IT investments.
  • Familiarity with Technology Business Management (TBM) taxonomy.
  • Child support or human services experience.
  • Experience using Tableau Data Visualization Software, Microsoft Power BI or other Business Intelligence tools.
  • Experience using SPSS, Python, R and/or SQL.
