Our work depends on an Instructional Designer/Trainer joining our team to support USPS activities in Bossier City, LA.

As an instructional designer with GDIT, you will be responsible for designing and developing training programs using proven adult learning methodologies and techniques. This includes designing and developing engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and knowledge transfer. If you enjoy directing structured adult learning activities, you will find this role to be both rewarding and challenging.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with subject matter experts to identify audience’s training needs

  • Creates instructional goals and content that supports goals by applying tested instructional design theories, practice, and methods

  • Creates visual aids (audio, video, simulations, e-learning modules, role plays, games, tests, etc.)

  • Facilitates training classes and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities

  • Stays abreast of training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques

  • Evaluates and/or oversees contractors or vendors to develop and/or administer training programs

  • Identifies best method of training delivery based upon training needs

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or Equivalent plus 3 years of related experience

  • Three or more years of experience managing a Learning Management System

  • Must have experience with eLearning, Agave, User Guide, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience with Basic HTML and Flash programming knowledge

  • MUST be a US citizen

Preferred Qualifications

  • Training or Instructional Design certification

  • Experience with content development software such as Captivate and Camtasia

  • Visual design skills and experience creating storyboards

The security clearance for this program requires the selected candidate to have resided in the US for the past five years. The selected candidate cannot have left the country for longer than 90 consecutive days and no more than 180 cumulative days.
