Job Description

General Dynamics Information Technology is searching for a Network Architect to support a new program who will be responsible for design, build-out and implementation of technical solutions for all aspects of our network infrastructure.  This candidate will have 15 to 20 years’ experience network analysis and design, serve as the program technical lead, and as a liaison between program and government engineering personnel to develop functionality necessary to operate in both classified and unclassified environments.  The successful candidate must have an entrepreneurial mentality and track record that focuses on delivering value added recommendations aligned with a business model resembling a startup company.

This position requires an expert level technical background in the IT networking realm and in particular, the ability master the design, implementation and troubleshooting of NSA’s Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) Cyber Security capabilities.  CSfC will be the central theme associated with our program’s network architecture.  

Clearance level requirement:  Top Secret/SCI clearance with Polygraph

Required Skills:

  • Expert hands-on working experience with as many of the following as possible: routers (Cisco preferred), Cisco ASA platforms with AnyConnect, Juniper SRX platforms, and Palo Alto Firewalls.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP and associated routing protocols such as OSPF, ISIS, etc
  • Strong knowledge of DISA STIG guidance and experience implementing DISA STIGs to secure network devices.
  • Knowledge of VPN solutions to include Site-to-Site, Multi-site, and client based VPN. Knowledge also includes PKI certificate based VPN solutions.
  • Knowledge with Certificates Authorities (CA) to include Microsoft Server Certificate Services deployments.
  • Excellent communication skills as demonstrated by the ability to articulate solutions to varying levels of personnel within program and government leadership teams in addition to being able to convey technical work instructions to network administrators.  Is able to communicate clearly in both written and verbal forms.

Desired Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of NSA’s Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) program to include the four capability packages (MSC, MA, WLAN, DAR).
  • Development and deployment of CSfC solutions.

Required Experience

  • Experience delivering enterprise level solutions/complex deployments from a technical leadership perspective.
  • Capacity to simultaneously track, guide and lead multiple technical teams.
  • Mentorship of technical personnel combined with experience in producing strategic training plans to enhance the program’s skill level.
  • Extensive experience with network design and sustainment, to include routing, switching, and VPN solutions.
  • Experience working within the parameters detailed via DISA STIGs.
  • Configuration management.  Experience Adhering to rigid guidelines and processes; dedicated to the validation, updating and maintenance of baseline design documentation.
  • CCNA certification or equivalent required. CCNP or equivalent preferred in security/VPN areas.

Education

  • BS Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, network engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Advance degree preferred.

Desire to attend CSfC training and earn acceses within 60 days on program.
